Are you one of those shillbots floating about? I'm literally the maintainer of
qanonmap.github.io
qanonmap.bitbucket.io
qntmpkts.keybase.pub
Anonymity doesn't make much sense when stating public updates.
Good question.
Basically, I created qanonmap because qcodefag (originally) started to put ads on his repo. Since then, I've largely maintained qanonmap independently of his code.
Some other differences of note:
His qanonposts doesn't have a publicly auditable changelog
He's anonymized his code (though I can still read it), in a poor attempt at obfuscation
He's based in Europe, while I'm 100% American
Does that cover it? :)
I don't want to decide on that, but rather the let the community decide.
My #1 priority is just making sure the qanonmap sites are always updated. That can definitely be a source for frustration to everyone, so I'm covered on that for sure now.
Just be advised, and from my candid perspective, from what I've seen, I'm 100% squeaky clean, while the ad-tracker thing from codefag leaves me uneasy.
It was a $300 bill, not $800.
But here's the thing: I haven't received any notification about high traffic from github.
Being upfront and honest (integrity) is all we have as anonymous people. I don't violate that and never will.
I have been doing my work free of charge and will never serve ads. It's just wrong.
Clarification: I state this as the maintainer of qanonmap.
In any case, my opinion is the more options people have, the better.
(qanonmap maintainer here)
Yes, I agree, but it isn't too surprising. codefag uses Amazon Web Services. Now that he put CloudFlare in front, that should help, since CF caches requests, reducing bandwidth usage on his server.
But again, choose whatever you guys want.
I created qanonmap precisely because I hate ads and think it's wrong to ask for any payments for what I believe in is right and the MAGA objective.
God bless.
qcodefag was open from the start. That's the whole idea behind free and open source. You can still see all the changes I make on github or bitbucket if you want. However, from the time he put ads in, I stopped "rebasing" my fork on his.
You sound like you're very intent on defending codefag's serving ads. He did it for weeks, and there is still a record of that in the git repository.
Come on man, I don't care what you use, but the truth is the truth.
He chose to panhandle. I didn't so I forked my own instance.
I wasn't here earlier. Must've been someone pretending to be me.
That pic shows what's being served by qanonposts.com right now.
If you don't believe me, install uBlock Origin and check yourself.
I submitted evidence for my claims, so I'm done here.
Exactly my point. It's public source. Who cares!
qanonmap never served ads and never will. That's the only reason I made it. It has a few other differences, but that's the reason I did it.
If you want to hate on me, I'll shut it down.
Taking what I say as disrespect is highly insulting and deserves no response, but I will say this:
1) I dislike ads
2) qcodefag inserted ads
3) I hard forked
4) We now have a non-ad version for public use
Facts are facts. If you regard that as disrespect, then that is your prerogative.
I put a lot of time in this, too. Just because he started the process doesn't mean I haven't spent a lot of time on this.
