It's not a stretch to imagine this article came straight out the Merkel propaganda machine. It makes Merkel sound like the helpless victim with no other choice but to potentiually side with China and US as the bully.

More importantly, if Germany does in fact side with China, EU can kiss whtever freedoms they have left goodbye.
