>I just wish my kids would come home with stories like this from "school". The love of our flag holds some of my greatest childhood memories.
I agree anon, I'm convinced we'll see these values return to our school's once we weed the cabal, the leftest "teachers" and our schools get reformed. Parents need to become more involved with the schools and keep an eye on what's being drummed into our impressionable kids. Until then it's up to us to teach our kids these values and the love of our flag. My feeling is the best way is not only through discussions with them but hands on involvement, simple things. I have an in ground flag pole with bright spot lights so we can fly the flag 24/7, together I'll let the kids take turns raising and lowering the flag when it needs to be changed or taken down because of pending high winds. We also make a big deal out of decorating both inside and out for the 4th of July, they love to help, they enjoy it as much as any other holiday. Another benefit is some of the other neighbors started doing the same and now on our street there are more houses flying flags than not and that really makes me feel good.
