An 84-year-old widow of a World War II veteran has been told by the state of California to either cease hosting Bible studies or face eviction from her home.

For the past nine years Artis Breau has been living at the California Veterans Home in Yountville. For many of those years she had volunteered in the chaplaincy program and hosted voluntary Bible studies.

New Mexico Defeats Radical Bill to Legalize Abortions Up to Birth

The New Mexico Senate rejected a radical pro-abortion bill Thursday that would have kept abortions legal for any reason up to birth in the state.

The vote was 18-24. It was a tough fight for pro-life advocates after the bill passed the House in February and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who claims to be Catholic, said she would support it.

Pro-life advocates celebrated the victory and praised the Republican and Democratic lawmakers who helped to defeat the bill.

“We are so thankful to the senators who stood up for women, unborn children, and their constituents tonight to vote against HB-51,” New Mexico Alliance for Life said in a statement. “The tide is turning in New Mexico once and for all, and we embrace our diverse cultural tradition that has always celebrated Life.”

Sweden’s first hijab-wearing MP grilled for proposing RACE–based nationwide register

A Swedish lawmaker of Somalian origin has sparked outrage after she put forward the idea of establishing an “equality data” register that would collect information on people’s race, ethnicity and sexual orientation.

People in Sweden may, in the future, have to register on a special database called “equality data” where they would need to specify their race. That’s at least according to a proposal put forward by Leila Ali Elmi, a lawmaker from the Green Party. The 30-year-old daughter of immigrants from Somalia who became the first Swedish MP to give a speech in a hijab, told local media that the initiative can tackle issues of discrimination more effectively.

The politician argued the country needs to collect data “instead of saying that racism does not exist and that Sweden is color-blind,” adding that it was statistics that helped the nation to remedy the problem of gender inequality.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has changed his cabinet for the third time in three months in response to a crisis caused by the resignation of a minister who later alleged inappropriate conduct by officials.
