Relating Muller to this case, the following is extracted from Wiki:

"he [Mueller]moved to Boston to work in the office of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts as an Assistant United States Attorney,[7] where he investigated and prosecuted major financial fraud, terrorism and public corruption cases, as well as narcotics conspiracies and international money launderers.[29]"

In other words, he was on the back end and Trump was on the front end of Russian money being laundered through the casino.
