night shift! gonna throw what I know / make of Kreuger, the suicided economist. I had to read his book on the relationship bt economic circumstance and terrorist recruitment. that debate had 2 camps. 1 camp that I mostly recall being sided by Daniel pipes argued that people join terrorist groups due to lack of opportunity and economic growth and increased opportunity would remedy scores of young males running off to Jihad. If only they had other options amiright?! but that camp failed to account for the glaring fact that many prominent lifers in terrorist organizations were highly educated (usually engineers or meds). Kreuger gathered data and made some sauce with which to analyze and from it he voiced the other camps rationale: it is more about the government of their country being repressive and violent towards civilians that is a better explainer. anecdotal case and point: look how many Saudis join groups yet the kingdom does not leave then to want for work or lacking social services. however the kingdom is quick to disappear a dissident or someone that violates slight infractions. 1/2
so his work is on the diligent and through side with integrity in the process and analysis. it struck me odd when I heard he was joining the Obama admin, actually for that very reason. it didn't seem what I knew of his work ethic would mesh to well with vets of chytown machine politics. further if he was doing work on the opioid epidemic, dollars to donuts he was giving due consideration to the facts set forth by Angus deaton and his wife (also good researchfags that got novels for discovering the deaths of despair situation that opiod mortality is a large part of). if he committed suicide here's my reckoning and we can see when details emerge whether I am far off the mark or not: a) he likely had carry out policy he knew to be antithetical to the stated point while under barry, b) he found out something regarding pharma and word got out he was talking, c) he was cabal but the blackmail kind (maybe he really liked Da benis but that conflicted with loyalty to his spouse therefore blackmail,– or some similar situation) and decided to step forward with something else or mixture of above and they got him. that's my take we will see hopefully when facts get out if they ever do.
