Two patterns:
1–eternal/spiritual
2–temporary/mortal
in both cases, the pattern is aware of itself as a thinking-feeling pattern.
one pattern is eternal and never ever changes in anyway whatsoever, and the other is temporary and changes physically & psychologically from the cradle to the grave.
