“No PLANet B”

small actions for big impacts on climate change” aims to contribute to the development of knowledge and critical understanding of European citizens, regarding the interdependent world of their role, responsibility and lifestyles towards a globalized society.

The project “There isn´t a PLANet B! Win-win strategies and small actions for big impacts on climate change” aims to contribute to the development of knowledge and critical understanding of European citizens, regarding the interdependent world of their role, responsibility and lifestyles towards a globalized society.

This three-year project (2017-2020) is co-funded by the European Union under the Development Education and Awareness Raising (DEAR) program and by the Camões Institute (Cooperation Institute and Language). Aims to promote the involvement of small and medium-sized Civil society organisations (CSOs) active in the areas of awareness and advocacy of the environment, through financial support for the implementation of effective actions for the benefit of European citizens on climate change and sustainable living (Sustainable Development Goals 11, 12 and 13).

The action is developed in a consortium, led by the Fondazione punto.sud and involving partners of Portugal (AMI – International Medical Assistance Foundation), Hungary (Hungarian Bast Aid), Romania (Asociatia Servicul Apel), Spain (Fondo Andaluz de Municipalities for la Solidaridad Internacional) and Germany (finep akademie e.V.).

The third parties (around 90 CSOs) are the direct target group of this action which identifies three different incentives: funds, knowledge and contacts. It is developed in three strands:

•Financial support

•Training and knowledge sharing

•Enhanced networking opportunities

The small and medium-sized CSOs (about 90 in total) are the main target group of the project. The final beneficiaries are European citizens more aware of the global impact on climate change and the reduction of the consequences for the southern hemisphere on a large scale. Local governments, CSOs (and individuals) from third countries and other institutions are also considered beneficiaries, since it is expected that some contributions have a positive impact on them.

Supported projects should have an impact at:

Local level: Third parties will implement small actions involving citizens and local communities, in cooperation with municipalities and regions, with the aim of changing the behavior of citizens and decision makers;

National level: due to the constant contact and possible cooperation between the third parties and the other partners and project stakeholders in the same country.

Pan-European level: seeking to produce results at European scale, third parties and project partners will be involved in coordinated actions and a coherent approach.

Main activities:

•Launch of the awareness campaign that “There isn´t a PLANet B”
