JPMorgan Managing Director Dies Suddenly; Has Links to Other JPM Deaths

When you are the largest bank in the United States and you’ve been compared to the Gambino crime family in a book by two trial lawyers; when you’ve pleaded guilty to three criminal felony counts brought by the United States Justice Department in the past five years; when you’ve paid over $30 billion in fines over charges of crimes against the public and investors since 2008; and when you’ve had an unprecedented string of employees leaping to their death from buildings, dropping dead at home or on the street, and two alleged murder-suicides by employees — all in just the past five years – one might think that law enforcement might show some interest – especially since this employer – JPMorgan Chase – holds tens of billions of dollars of Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) on its workers. (This death benefit, by the way, pays tax-free to the corporation, not the employee’s family.)

But when it comes to JPMorgan Chase and law enforcement, there does not seem to be a morsel of curiosity over the continuing sudden deaths of its computer technology workers – no matter how high up the corporate ladder they rank or how many floors they are alleged to fall to their death.

Take the case of Douglas (Doug) Arthur Carucci, age 53, who died on Saturday, March 9 under what Sarah Butcher at eFinancial Careers calls “tragic” and unexpected circumstances. Carucci is believed to have been a resident of Manhattan with his wife, Cindy.

Trump is not Right Wing because America has no Right Wing

American conservatives, Trump included, by definition cannot be Right Wing, because their primary goal is to lessen government control over the individual.

John Lott wrote an article challenging the media’s contention that the New Zealand mosque shooter is “right wing” and, naturally, tying that right-winged-ness to President Trump and his supporters. Lott based his challenge on the fact that the shooter’s manifesto, aside from some trolling about Trump and Candace Owens, aligns perfectly with the Left’s ideology and is utterly unrelated to Trump’s words or policies. It’s a good article and I recommend it.

I want to head in a slightly different direction which is to say, as I have said before, that there is no Right Wing in America, meaning that neither Trump nor his supporters can or should be smeared in that way. Moreover, there is almost no relationship between ostensible conservatives outside of America and those of us in America who identify as conservatives. We are entirely different breeds. I have a tendency to be wordy, but I’ll try to keep this as streamlined as possible.

I’ll start with the absolutely true statement that there are only two forms of government: Bigger Government and Smaller Government. No matter the label affixed to the governing entity, it’s either Bigger, which means fewer individual rights, or Smaller, which means more individual rights. This is true whether the government is a monarchy, an aristocracy, an oligarchy, a republic, a democracy, a theocracy, a junta, or whatever. It’s not the label that matters; it’s the amount of government control versus individual liberty. Of course, socialist governments, whether denominated as socialist, communist, or fascist, are all Big (indeed, Biggest) Governments by definition.

Research: Maximizing privacy of the interledger protocol (ILP) via Tor-like onion routing circuits

The Interledger Protocol (ILP) is a network protocol that facilitates micropayments and settlements between different payment systems. Nevertheless, it leads to the unmasking of all transaction information including transaction amount, sender wallet address, and recipient wallet address.

A recently published research paper proposes an application layer, named ILP-CEPA, that operates on top of ILP in order to hide transaction information via Tor-style onion routing. ILP-CEPA operates without any alterations to Interledger’s basic protocol and requires no extra coordination between network nodes. Throughout this article, we will overview ILP-CEPA and how onion routing circuits are established.

Does Bill Clinton Run Murder Inc.?

Last week on TheToday Show, Linda Tripp declared that she had received “threats to my life, threats to the lives of my children” from the president (via Monica Lewinsky). Similarly, Dick Morris referred last month in the Washington Post to “the list of the 25 people who have died in mysterious circumstances in connection with [the Ken Starr] investigation.” Does the president’s scandal-management team include a hit squad? Who allegedly has been bumped off? Are any of the charges true?

Lists of supposed Clinton victims have circulated on the Internet web for the past few years. (Click here to see one list.) The lists may have originated with The Clinton Chronicles, a video produced in 1993 and since hawked by conservatives such as Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, and Jerry Falwell. The Chronicles explain that as governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton supervised a drug-smuggling and money-laundering enterprise that stretched from Central America to the Reagan-administration’s CIA to west Arkansas. The video alleges that eight people were killed because they knew too much about the operation.

8 musicians who aren't named Elvis that served in the military

When you think of famous musicians who have honorably served in the United States Armed Forces, the mind immediately goes to Elvis Presley — and how could it not? Photos abound of the handsome, young Elvis in a crisp Army uniform. When he arrived at the airport to attend basic training, the airport was mobbed with screaming fans.

Upon being drafted, Elvis Presley entered the United States Army in spring of 1958 and served until spring of 1960, receiving his discharge from the Army Reserve in 1964. At the time of his draft, he was the most well-known entertainer in the Armed Forces, but he didn't let his fame get in the way of service. Despite being offered a safer, cushier role in the Special Services as more of an entertainer and recruiting tool, Elvis chose instead to serve as a regular soldier.

However, Elvis isn't the only famed musician to serve their country. Let's look at eight other musicians you might be surprised to learn served their country in the United States Armed Forces.

Human trafficking - statistics and facts

Despite increased international attention and resources from states and other non-governmental institutions, the number of people falling victim to human trafficking around the world continues to grow. Between 2008 and 2016 the number of human trafficking victims identified worldwide more than doubled from 30,961 to 66,520. Though such statistics also lead to a degree of optimism among investigators and human rights advocates as it suggests that additional focus has lead to greater exposure of the issue. After all, trafficking in persons is an illegal practice shaded in secrecy and is therefore near impossible to measure it in its entirety.
