This concept can only exist on a sphere earth or at minimum a half sphere earth, but then the math doesn't work for Southern Hemisphere.

For reference: I don't think the Apollo missions went to the moon; the fact that majority believe we did is just as impressive. I also don't think we have got humans out of low earth orbit…and believe that a belt of radiation seems like a plausible reason why. Have we put machines on the moon? - probably. Is there technology that has got humans to the moon in a method not advertised…possible, but not probable.
