It is five days after the midterm elections. Trump expects and probably will have massive pick ups for the Republicans. With this event and our victory in ending the federal reserve…..it is a pure victory Roman triumph style.

Scene from the Triumphs of Caesar by Andrea Mantegna(1482-94, now Royal Collection)

The Roman triumph (triumphus) was a civil ceremony and religious rite of ancient Rome, held to publicly celebrate and sanctify the success of a military commander who had led Roman forces to victory in the service of the state or, originally and traditionally, one who had successfully completed a foreign war.

On the day of his triumph, the general wore a crown of laurel and the all-purple, gold-embroidered triumphal toga picta ("painted" toga), regalia that identified him as near-divine or near-kingly, and even was known to paint his face red. He rode in a four-horse chariot through the streets of Rome in unarmed procession with his army, captives, and the spoils of his war. At Jupiter's temple on the Capitoline Hill, he offered sacrifice and the tokens of his victory to the god. Republican morality required that, despite these extraordinary honours, the general conduct himself with dignified humility, as a mortal citizen who triumphed on behalf of Rome's Senate, people, and gods. Inevitably, the triumph offered extraordinary opportunities for self-publicity, besides its religious and military dimensions.

Yeah seems an interesting lead. I believe many of these leads are dropped by a connection to Q. They are sheep dogging us to the scent. Dont know about this one….but could be. Maybe I will try to dig.

The Deal With Oprah Winfrey’s Private Maui Road

AUGUST 3, 2011 BY ANTHONY PIGNATARO 9 COMMENTS

By Anthony Pignataro

According to Forbes, Oprah Winfrey is worth $2.7 billion. The 57-year-old former actor became famous for her Oprah Winfrey Show (which ceased production in May) but still runs a vast media empire. She owns a production company (Harpo Productions), a cable network (OWN), a magazine (O), Oprah.com and the Oprah Radio satellite station. She also owns estates in Montecito, California and Fisher Island, Florida; houses in Lavallette, New Jersey, Douglasville, Georgia and Telluride, Colorado; and assorted properties on the islands of Antigua and Maui. The latter includes 100 acres in Hana, 1,000 acres Upcountry (which boasts a small, terribly exclusive 12-room bed and breakfast) and a four-mile road.

And not just any road, either: Oprah’s road is concrete and asphalt 12 feet across. Goodfellow Brothers paved it in December 2010. The road stretches from the water tank at Kealakapu Road near Piilani Highway in Kihei to Keokoa, near Haleakala Highway. It’s a road locals have been waiting for 40 years — a potentially golden road that could radically ease traffic congestion in Central Maui.

That is, if the public could use it, which it most certainly cannot. “The paved road, drainage swales and detention ponds will be privately maintained,” stated a June 2009 Drainage Report on the effects of paving the road prepared by Wayne I. Arakaki Engineer LLC for OW Ranch, LLC, (the initials reportedly stand for “Oprah Winfrey”) and kept on file with the Maui County Planning Department. “This is a private roadway and will not be open to the public.”

OW Ranch paid for the road. “It wasn’t cheap,” said OW Ranch agent Hugh Starr when asked how much it cost. He ultimately declined to provide a figure, and officials with both the county Planning Department and Haleakala Ranch said they either didn’t know or couldn’t provide the number (grading the road did require a $34,520 bond, which county civil engineer Lance Nakamura said represented just a fraction of the grading costs).

According to Starr, the road lies entirely on Haleakala Ranch land, which he said was the road’s main user. But he added that OW Ranch and Kamaole Ranch (which is owned by Winfrey’s former personal trainer Bob Greene, who is also listed as a manager for OW Ranch) retain access rights to the road that dated back to OW Ranch’s original purchase of the 1,000 Upcountry acres from Haleakala Ranch. Starr called the original dirt and gravel road “very rocky and dusty” as well as “dangerous,” which the grading permit and accompanying drainage report makes clear.

“We will paved [sic] approximately four miles of road 12 feet wide,” states the county drainage report. “Grades which is [sic] greater than 12 percent will be constructed out of concrete. We will construct drainage swales along the paved road, with plastic liner. All slopes will be graded at a 3:1 [ratio].”

Hugh Starr referred to the road as a “driveway” that “makes going in a lot easier,” though he added that the road doesn’t actually reach any dwellings owned by OW Ranch or Kamaole Ranch. “It was an existing ranch utility road,” he said. “The Department of Water Supply, Maui Electric and Haleakala Ranch all use it.”

Rumors about the road have flown about the island for months. During a Jan. 11 Maui Planning Commission hearing on OW Ranch’s request to extend a permit for its Silver Cloud bed and breakfast in Kula, Chairman Jonathan Starr (no relation to Hugh) asked OW Ranch agents whether the road existed and if it tied into Winfrey’s Silver Cloud bed and breakfast.

Tom Welch, an attorney representing OW Ranch, Kamaole Ranch and Silver Cloud, said the road did not connect to the Upcountry bed and breakfast.

“Mr. Chairman, yeah, in I think it was 2003 [sic] when Kamaole Ranch LLC, an affiliated entity, bought the land, bought [a] thousand acres from Haleakala Ranch in this area,” Welch said during the hearing, according to the official minutes (a receptionist at the Kahului law firm Mancini, Welch & Geiger said Welch was unavailable to comment for this story).

“They negotiated with Haleakala Ranch to get an easement over an existing ranch road so that, so that there could be access down below… [T]he way it’s set up, and the way it finally turned out was, the ranch granted an easement for the personal use of the particular client. And it’s over the ranch, it’s over an existing ranch road, and it allows them to, allows the client to use it from time to time subject to notice requirements.”

Curiously, at the hearing Welch also told the planning commissioners that “this is not a entire, entirely harmonious situation between the use of the ranch land for ranching purposes and the personal of use [sic] but it’s all worked out and that’s basically the situation.” When asked what Welch meant, J. Scott Meidell, an agent for the Haleakala Ranch, denied that any tension existed between Haleakala and OW Ranches. “There’s no disagreement over it at all,” he said.

Another curiosity: The original grading and grubbing permit application, dated June 22, 2010, indicated “OW Ranch LLC” was the property owner, with “Hugh Starr” listed as the agent. At some point that name was crossed out and the words “Haleakala Ranch Company” hand-written next to it. The new agent listed was Meidell.

“I don’t know why” the crossing out occurred, Meidell said. “But the actual landowner has to sign the permit, and Haleakala Ranch is the landowner.”

In any case, though the road is not visible from either Piilani Highway in Kihei or Haleakala Highway in Kula, Hugh Starr said members of the public still find their way to it.

It’s hard to monitor the road,” Starr said. “There’s some concern about the general public. It’s kind of a double-edged sword because the road is very attractive to skateboards and joggers. We have definite security issues.”

Well, not THAT secret. If one considers that you can see the road on Google Maps.

4 Miles long, 12 feet wide, a mix of Concrete & Asphalt, and has basic drainage trappings. It "links" Oprah's Ulapalakua estate in Upcountry Maui to the Kihei/Wailea area. Which seems cool till you find out that……Maui folks have been demanding such a road for nearly 4 decades now or so. Why she built the road (which is actually improved ranch roads that already existed in some form or another beforehand) is anyone's guess. Most of the more high end restaurants and accommodations on Maui are located in the resort areas of Wailea and Makena. Maybe she needs a route to hawk her organically grown veggies to the resorts below.

Of course, you can still find and "see" the road, but it's abit of a pain. The road is "tucked" into other roads, and is not visible to normal daily traffic.

The "Upcountry Gate" is down a steep road and blocked by gates. You have to find the Sun Yat Sen Park (near supposedly where Sen had a house on Maui before the whole Revolutionary thing in China some years afterwards).

You then have to go downhill on the "Dead End" road till you hit these gates to see the start/exit of the road. Heres some tourists that visited the top part of the road.

The "Kihei Gate" of the road is actually up a bit from the Piilani Highway, but you can see where Oprah has to come out and join regular peon traffic.

Then again, how she does a left turn is a bit of a head scratchier when traffic is heavy, or you don't want people knowing when your coming or going.

How the road is is also a head scratcher. While there is acknowledgement the road will be used by unauthorized users according to the Maui Feed Article:

It's hard to monitor the road," Starr said. "There's some concern about the general public. It's kind of a double-edged sword because the road is very attractive to skateboards and joggers. We have definite security issues."

…one has to wonder if Oprah is savvy enough to allow some limited traipsing if the money is right (Mini Rally anyone?). Oh, wait, bro trucks already ruined it for us probably:

I knew several people who had the keys to the gates, but idiots had to drive their lifted trucks that they never take 4-wheel driving, (try to look like they do but wouldn't know how to) and purposely ran into farmers fences, destroying private property, ramming fences, ruining it for everybody else, so it's their fault not Oprah's. A couple jerks always ruin it for everybody else. Pilau Lolo's!

Celebrities in Maui Hawaii

It is no surprise that Maui is high on the list of famous celebrities who want to find a place to live that combines beauty, year round great weather and more seclusion and privacy than most places, especially California, where the paparazzi are numerous.

The average daytime temp of Maui ranges between 81 and 88 degrees, with nighttime temps from 63 to 72, and it does not rain much, especially in the summer months - they generally average less than 1 inch per month. When you combine this with the breathtaking beauty of the island, the built in isolation from paparazzi and fans and the fact that many films and TV shows have been filmed here it is easy to see why anyone would want to live here.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah is perhaps the most famous celebrity that lives on Maui. She purchased the Thompson Ranch, a historic piece of property on Mount Haleakala with panoramic views of the ocean and the central valley of Maui. Oprah also purchased a 63 acre piece of land in Hana so no one could develop the land. She built one home here.

Clint Eastwood has also built an oceanfront house in South Maui. He calls Maui his 'adopted second home', and has filmed on location there for his 2010 film 'Hereafter'. Clints' beautiful home is located on an undeveloped beach on South Maui known as White Rock to the locals. Just a short distance away is the Polo Beach Condos. This area is known as Wailea and has so much natural beauty to offer.

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson also enjoys the seclusion of this island paradise; he has a home in Huelo on Maui's north shore with his wife and three daughters. What better place to practice a lifestyle that includes vegetarianism, yoga, and a deep appreciation of the true natural beauty of the world. His home is near a little town called Paia. This is where Willie Nelson has a great restaurant called Charlies.

Owen Wilson

Also on the North Shore of Maui you can find Owen Wilson, who purchased an 8 million dollar house in 2009. He has been spotted in the picturesque little town of Paia; what better place to stroll the beaches with your son in tow than on the beautiful north shores of Hawaii.

Willie Nelson

Paia and the North Shore are popular with celebrities of all stripes, though - Willie Nelson owns not just a house but also owns the bar Charlie's in Paia. He occasionally plays there without notice. He has also been spotted in the small town of Makawao in the upcountry of Maui. A bit further inland, Kris Kristofferson also treats locals to the occasional concert, and makes a home in the remote town of Hana.

In Shane Victorino's high school days at St. Anthony High School in Wailuku Maui he was a track and field champion. Presently Shane is a well known baseball player with 24 career outfield assists and has played professional baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies & Boston Red Sox. Victorino earned the nicknames "Pineapple Express" & "Flyin' Hawaiian" with his Hawaiian heritage and lightning fast speed. In 2013/2014 Victorino could arguably be the most famous Hawaiian born celebrity, right up there with Barack Obama, Jack Johnson and Bruno Mars.

Chris Berman is among the famous people that live in Hawaii. Mr. Berman or "The Swami" is a veteran ESPN sports announcer who was raised in Irvington, NY but born in Greenwich, Connecticut. Chris graduated Brown University in 1977 majoring in history. Olowalu Maui is where Chris Berman calls home these days. A quiet area with only a few homes that is popular for kayaking and snorkelers that patrol the reef formations along the highway. This part of Maui is undeveloped with no hotels, no stop lights, no fast food, no buildings over two stories and feels a lot like a tiny coastal town in Costa Rica. Just a bit north past Olowalu you will find Launiupoko, Puamana, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili and Kapalua. Tropical luxury abounds here as you drive up the highway beautiful homes, golfing, swim-able beaches and some of Maui's best restaurants await.

Although we are not sure exactly where, it is rumored that Lars Ulrich of the famous band Metallica lives on the island of Maui as well. There is a place on the West side of the island called Launiupoko where he is said to reside. You can find this small town on the way to the popular town of Lahaina. This is where the big cruise ships stop and let off people for the day.

One thing is for sure; the same thing that has brought movie and TV shows to the island also brings celebrities, both those who end up putting down roots and those who simply visit often, like Matthew McConaughey, Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Paris Hilton, Sarah Palin and more.

While White House pool reports indicate the first lady stayed behind this week in Hawaii to chill out with friends before her 50th birthday, there weren’t many specifics. But sources with direct knowledge tell TheDC that the first lady is relaxing in Maui at Oprah’s estate with CBS’ Gayle King, Valerie Jarrett and Sharon Malone, who is Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife.

I smell FUCKERY!!!! Luciferian shit going on there with Valerie Jarrett and her husband Micheal Obama. And Holders wife?

For a while it was heavenly. Then the roads started to get worse, at first breaking up, then turning into mogul fields of pot holes and then becoming free of tarmac altogether. By now the rain, which I had expected to ease off, was becoming torrential. The occasional section of reasonable tarmac only made the riding more treacherous as I’d build up speed only to hit another stretch of utterly ruined surface. The scenery was still stunning but finally the road, as well as being pot-holed, shaley and wet also became heavily corrugated and within seconds my front wheel found a hole and I was off the bike.

Apart from the inevitable grazes and bruises, and the shifters being twisted round my bars, there was no real damage to bike or body. Unfortunately, though, my Rapha rain jacket, which I love, got shredded and my Canon pocket camera took a beating and will probably need to be replaced. After popping a couple of neurofen, twisting my shifters back and taking a few moments, I rode on a few miles, cursing the impossible road, to the store at Kaupo. The girl who served me had an air of ennui as though she was drearily used to serving cyclists covered in grit and blood, although I bet hardly any road cyclists pass through. I managed, at least, to buy a Snickers bar, a soda and an antibacterial wipe.

The roadway after this got, if anything, worse, reverting back to an uninterrupted mogul field of pot holes with absolutely no clear runs of tarmac for another five or six miles. The few vehicles that I saw were all pick-ups jacked up above massive tyres – a type that almost always looks absurd but here was just the ticket.

At around 65 miles smooth carriageway resumed in time for the ascent back inland up the shoulder of the volcano. The rain continued but, without the horror of the unmade road, it was again a beautiful ride.

The 10 mile stretch of shale and broken tarmac and the disconnectedness of the highway system effected by Oprah’s gates make no sense at all. It’s almost impossible to believe that an American state can be so hostile to the needs of its car drivers. But I’m glad of it.

Definitely Oprah is getting the Queen treatment out there in Hawaii. Seems the whole thing makes no sense. They want no "little" people out there. What would we see?
