The pineal gland is for sure a hell of a topic. There is certainly MORE to it than we suspect:
Pineal gland produces DMT (Dimethyltriptamine).
Compare near death experience reports with DMT trip reports. Interestingly, if the DMT dose surmounts a certain treshold, people report about having made contact with alien liveform.
(I have no experience in this field, but I find it highly remarkable for a haluzinogenic drug that people seem to experience the same thing).
