JetBlue Pilots Accused Of Drugging, Raping Crew Members In Puerto Rico
Two male JetBlue pilots have been accused of drugging three female crew members and raping two of them during a layover in Puerto Rico.
The lawsuit, filed in the Eastern District of New York against the pilots and the airline, alleges that the three female crew members checked into the InterContinental Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on or about May 9 - after which they "arrived at the beach, found some chairs and set up camp," when they noticed two men - pilots Dan Watson and Eric Johnson. The pilots allegedly handed the women an open beer from a lunch bag, which they shared, and now say was laced with a drug.
The next thing the "Jane Doe #1" says she remembers "in a haze from being drugged," is Johnson raping her. She also claims she remembers the pilot raping one of the other women, before saying "thank you for making my fantasy come true."
The other woman, "Jane Doe #2" corroborates the account in the complaint.

VIDEO: Kidnapped Mexican Politician Forced to Disclose Gulf Cartel Ties
MIGUEL ALEMAN, Tamaulipas â Cartel gunmen from Los Zetas forced a kidnapped Mexican politician to talk about his ties to a rival organization that dominates this border city. The confession was video recorded and shared on social media as a way to justify the kidnapping and announce the Zetaâs plan to take control of the region.
Last week, Miguel Aleman Mayor Servando Lopez Moreno made headlines when he publicly announced that one of his councilmen, Herbey Barrera, had been kidnapped. Barrera is the husband of Claudia Ochoa Iniguez, a former federal congresswoman from Tamaulipas who is expected to run for a higher office in the near future. Miguel Aleman is directly south of Roma, Texas, and is considered one of the busiest smuggling corridors for drugs and humans used by the Gulf Cartel.
Almost a week after the kidnapping, a team of gunmen from the Cartel Del Noreste (CDN) faction of Los Zetas released a video where they apparently interrogate Barrera. The politician is seen blindfolded, handcuffed, and kneeling between two CDN gunmen while a third man off-camera asks about ties to the Gulf Cartel.
In the video, Barrera confirms his identity and says he works for a Gulf Cartel operative named Jesus âChuy El Nalgasâ or âButt Cheeksâ Garza Moreno. Barrera said that some drugs from a recent seizure in Rancherias belonged to him, with the rest attributed to Garza Moreno and Chuy âEl Patotasâ or âBigfootâ Hernandez.
During the interrogation, Barrera also names several Gulf Cartel operators and various businessmen tied to them. At the end of the short video, one of the Los Zetas gunmen says they do not kidnap innocent people. The gunman tells the mayor of Miguel Aleman to drop the matter and threatens Chuy Hernandez by announcing Los Zetasâ plans to take over the region.

US jury finds Monsantoâs Roundup was a âsubstantial factorâ in causing manâs cancer
Monsanto/Bayer AGâs glyphosate-based Roundup weed killer was found to be a âsubstantial factorâ in causing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in a California man, as the trial proceeds to its next phase to determine liability and damages.
In a landmark verdict that could affect numerous other cases, a federal jury in San Francisco found Roundup herbicide to be a significant contributing factor in causing the cancer of a man from Santa Rosa, California. During the trial, 70-year-old Edwin Hardeman alleged that his decades-long exposure to the Monsanto product had led him to develop a cancer that affects the immune system, called non-Hodgkinâs lymphoma (NHL).
The trial will now proceed to the next phase where the jury is set to determine the liability and damages in the case.
Tuesday's ruling follows another pivotal verdict against Monsanto in August, where the jury awarded terminal cancer patient Dewayne Johnson a staggering $289 million in damages after ruling that the biotechnology corporation failed to properly warn users of Roundupâs health hazards.
Across the US alone, the German pharmaceutical company Bayer, which purchased Monsanto last year, is potentially facing thousands of similar lawsuits involving Roundup weed killer.
âMonsanto has placed an unsafe product on the market, has manipulated the science and manipulated public opinion and has consistently misled people into believing Roundup is safe,â Jennifer Moore, one of the plaintiffâs attorneys, said before the verdict, after the defense team claimed at the trial that the company had âbulliedâ researchers to suppress negative studies about the weed killer.
The Bayer legal team representing Monsanto for its part continues to argue that Roundup and its active ingredient glyphosate does not cause cancer and that it is safe to use. It also notes that regulators around the world have approved the product.
Not everyone agrees with Monsanto's assessment. âTodayâs verdict reinforces âŚwhat scientists with the state of California and the World Health Organization have concluded: Glyphosate causes cancer in people,â said Environmental Working Group President Ken Cook. âAs similar lawsuits mount, the evidence will grow that Roundup is not safe, and that the company has tried to cover it up.â

Prosecutors: Weâll Drop Charges Against Patriots Owner Robert Kraft If He Admits He Would Have Been Found Guilty At Trial
Owner of the New England Patriots Robert Kraft was caught with his pants down â literally â at least according to Florida police.
The 77-year-old billionaire was charged in February with two counts of âsoliciting another to commit prostitutionâ after a months-long investigation into day spas and massage parlors police suspected of being used for prostitution. Jupiter Police Chief Daniel Kerr said Kraft visited the Orchids of Asia Day Spa on two occasions and police had video footage showing him receiving âpaid actsâ in a room at the spa.
But Kraft said the charges were all wrong. âWe categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity,â his spokesman said. Kraft pleaded not guilty and reportedly assembled a âdream teamâ of attorneys to battle the charges.
Now, though, comes a whole new wrinkly in the case, first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Florida prosecutors have offered to drop charges against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and a number of other men charged with soliciting prostitution, according to a person familiar with the matter, but there is a catch. The proposed agreement calls for the men to admit they would have been proven guilty at trial.
The proposed deferred prosecution agreement calls for completion of an education course about prostitution, completion of 100 hours of community service, screening for sexually transmitted diseases and payment of some court costs.
But in an unusual provision, the agreement also calls for the defendants to review the evidence in the case and agree that, if it were to go to trial, the state would be able to prove their guilt, this person said. It isnât clear whether Mr. Kraft and others would accept such a condition. When the charges were announced, a spokesman for Mr. Kraft denied he engaged in illegal activity.
A spokesman for the state attorneyâs office said that it is the standard resolution for first-time offenders, or they go to trial.
The deal is not unusual, USA Today reported. âAll defendants in that investigation that have been charged with misdemeanors receive a comparable plea offer,â said Michael Edmondson, state attorneyâs spokesman.
Edmondson said generally there is âa requirement for either an admission of guilt or an acknowledgement that the state could prevail at trial for the pretrial diversion to go forward.â
That would put Kraft in a tough spot. With his âdream teamâ of lawyers â and his billion-dollar bank account â he could put up quite a fight. Or the whole mess could be swept under the carpet â provided he just say he did what heâs charged with doing.
The Journal pointed out that âlegal experts have raised questions about the tactics Jupiter, Fla., police used in obtaining search warrants for an investigation they said was intended to stop a growing human trafficking problem.â
Prosecutors and law-enforcement officials had described the investigation as a probe into human trafficking and portrayed the men who patronized the spas as contributing to the demand for sex slavery. In announcing the charges, Dave Aronberg, the state attorney for Palm Beach County, had called human trafficking âevil in our midst,â echoing the rhetoric of law-enforcement officials. But no one has been charged with human trafficking in the case. Prosecutorsâ affidavits have not detailed evidence of human trafficking at Orchids of Asia Day Spa.
âThe police are making this case that this is a major human trafficking ring, and thatâs why itâs so serious,â said Duncan Levin, a former federal prosecutor and managing partner of Tucker Levin, PLLC who is not connected to the case. âThe fact that they had cameras installed in the locations for so long somewhat undermines the claim that there was an extraordinary danger to the people working in the establishment.â
If Kraft doesnât take the deal, he faces at least 10 days in jail â and up to two years â if convicted on both charges.
