My father was flying an operation "Rolling Thunder" mission in 1968 when a russian SAM blew up under his plane and caught it on fire.He went in, bombed his his target and when he pulled out, his second engine caught fire. He punched out. Got broke up on impact and later got captured. We didn't know he was alive for ovr 2 years. He survive 5 prisons, starvation and torture for over 5 years. He came home broken up, but not BROKEN. He was a true hero.
