Have you bothered to look at what shit DARPA et al have continued to work on?
Transhumanist exoskeletons, AI controlled wingmen, humans with embedded neural-network chips to control/assist on the 'battlefield', etc, etc. is any of this to assist humanity?
Even the ARPAnet was originally constructed so all information could be continually collected by those who created it. If PEACE were the goal, why continue to build ever-more complex weapons of warfare and destruction?
