Baker Hughes Rig Count for North American Down 29 for March 15

The Baker Hughes Rig Count for North America was down 29 for the week ending March 15, as Canada continues to drag down the United States (US).

The U.S. rig count declined by just 1 to 1026, but remains 36 rigs higher than the previous year. A new study finds the U.S. will overcome Saudi Arabia in 2019 as the world’s top oil exporter.

Rigs classified as drilling for oil in the U.S. declined by just 1 rig to 833, but are still 33 rigs more than the prior year’s level. Rigs classified as drilling for gas were flat at 193, which is 4 more than last year.

For Canada, rigs classified as drilling for oil fell another 20 to 98, and are now 46 fewer than one year ago. Rigs classified as drilling for gas were down by 8 to 63, which is 12 less than last year.

The Gulf of Mexico, while a subset of the U.S., is a separately counted component. It held steady at 22, up 9 rigs from one year ago.

The Baker Hughes Rig Count tracks weekly changes in the number of active rigs classified as drilling for either oil or gas. Active rigs are essential for the exploration and development of oil and gas fields.

Mainstream Belgian Reporter Blows The Lid On MSM Lies Over Ghouta, Syria “Chemical Attacks”

For six years and ever since the alleged “chemical weapons attack” in Ghouta, Syria in 2013, the Western corporate press has stuck with the easily disproven claim that the Syrian government “gassed” its own people. That lie has been repeatedly debunked by researchers in the alternative media but that hasn’t altered the onslaught of propaganda coming from mainstream “journalists.”

Now, however, one of their own, a mainstream Belgian reporter who was captured by the West’s Free Syrian Army terrorists, has begun blowing the lid off the lies that the Syrian government committed the “chemical attack.”

The reporter, Pierre Piccinin da Prata, recently gave an interview with Belgian RTL, where he told of a conversation he heard between rebels that exonerated President Bashar al-Assad and stated clearly that “It wasn’t the government of Bashar al-Assad that used Sarin gas or any other gas in Ghouta.” As a result, the majority of his scheduled interviews with mainstream outlets were cancelled.

Piccinin was a war reporter and Editor-In-Chief of The Maghreb and Orient Courier and was held hostage by the Syrian “rebels” alongside Italian war reporter Domenico Quirico for five long months. He is now exposing the propaganda peddled by his colleagues and calling on them to correct what they have got so wrong about Syria since 2011.

Putin also handed his government several other tech-related deadlines:

• July 1: Find ways to stimulate investment in broader areas of technology, including the Internet of Things, robotics, and processing of large data arrays by small and medium-sized businesses.

• Sept. 1: Connect all Russian schools to high-speed internet service. (This date, by the by, will be the two-year anniversary of Putin’s famous speech that a country that masters AI will rule the world.)

USC's campus newspaper is chastising school administrators for offering 'flimsy solutions and weak promises' in the wake of college admissions scandal

The University of Southern California's campus newspaper, The Daily Trojan, on Monday criticized the school's response to the alleged $25 million college admissions scandal that ripped some of the glossy veneer off of USC and several other elite colleges and universities this month.

Court documents reveal an FBI investigation into a multilayered operation in which wealthy parents and others are accused of paying and accepting bribes to facilitate admission to elite universities on behalf of their children. No schools were charged with any wrongdoing.

Stanford, Georgetown, UCLA, and Yale are among the schools mentioned in the FBI probe, but USC appears most frequently in the court documents, The Daily Trojan writes.

Six of the victims died at the scene, two others at a hospital, according to police. Students at the school range in age from 11 to 18, officials said. Suzano police confirmed to CNN that the two attackers killed themselves. The shooters arrived at the school during the lunch break, police said.

Thanks to its fiscal track record, this government has given Canadians a hundred billion reasons to judge it very harshly

Trudeau's broken balanced budget promise will cost us $100 billion and counting

Most people don’t expect their governments to be perfect. But they do expect governments to make some effort to honour commitments, be straight with taxpayers and make the best of circumstances as they come.

In the 2015 election, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised he’d run “modest” deficits for a few years, then balance the budget in 2019.

.

The prime minister just released the 2019 budget. It wasn’t what he promised. And it’s worth counting the ways in which he misled Canadians in the process of breaking that

promise.

China’s first cloned police dog reports for duty

A cloned puppy, which was bred using DNA from an award-winning police sniffer dog, has started training with a force in the southwest of China.

Earlier this month Kunxun, a two-month-old female, began training at Kunming Police Dog Base in Yunnan province, according to media reports.

The Kunming wolfdog is China’s first cloned police dog and was born after scientists took a DNA sample from a seven-year-old female named Huahuangma, which has won a string of awards for helping to crack multiple cases in the city of Puer.

Since arriving in Kunming, Kunxun has adjusted well to the local environment, the base’s project analyst Wan Jiusheng told the Science and Technology Daily.

“She is friendly to humans, sociable and alert,” said Wan, adding that the pup is not scared of the dark or unfamiliar spaces, has a strong sense of smell and can quickly find hidden food.

The project was carried out by Yunnan Agricultural University and Sinogene, a Beijing-based company specialising in cloning pets and animals for commercial uses, the newspaper reported.
