Cory Booker gushes over girlfriend Rosario Dawson and teases that they may have a White House wedding if he wins the 2020 election

He gushed over Dawson, 39, as an 'incredible human' who had taught him how to 'love fearlessly'

Booker was coy when Ellen DeGeneres asked if they might become engaged soon

She joked that they should hold off any wedding plans until after the election in case he is elected president

Booker said he would ask her to preside over their hypothetical White House wedding

Cory Booker gushed over his girlfriend Rosario Dawson during an appearance on Ellen on Wednesday and even teased the idea that the pair may have a White House wedding if he wins the 2020 presidential election.

Booker, 49, told host Ellen DeGeneres that Dawson - who enthusiastically confirmed their relationship last week - had been 'ambushed' in the airport with questions about their romance.

'She was TMZ'd. She was visiting me in DC and she left to the airport and she got ambushed at the airport. I got a little video of her at the airport saying "I got TMZ'd. I don't have make-up on, this and this and that."

'She was wonderful, she's just an incredible human being,' he said.

He added that Dawson is a 'deeply soulful person' who has 'taught him a lot of lessons about love'.

'Sometimes you show your greatest strength when you make yourself vulnerable.

'She really has this nurturing spirit that's made me more courageous, not just in the love that I project and want to see in our country but even in our personal relationship, just to love more fearlessly. I am really, really blessed,' he said.

Ellen then joked that they should wait until after the election to get married if they intend to.

Booker did not recoil at the suggestion.

'You're saying if Rosario and I get there, wait. Don't do the marriage before? In January 2021?

'Would you help preside over the wedding? Is that a promise?' he said, then shook Ellen's hand.

Booker was also full of praise for his host.
