Nick Lewin Wedding Announcement
Leslie Karen Adelson, a daughter of Anita Bram Adelson and Stephen M. Adelson of West Newton, Mass., is to be married today to Nicholas James Lewin, a son of Deirdre Collie Lewin and Stephen M. Lewin of White Plains. Rabbi Ronne Friedman will officiate at the Seeds of Peace summer camp in Otisfield, Me., with Cantor Roy B. Einhorn taking part.
The bride, 27, will take her husband's name. She is the program director in the New York office of Seeds of Peace, an American organization that brings teenagers together to promote conflict resolution in the Middle East and elsewhere. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and in 1997 was a summer intern in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. Her father is a partner in Adelson Loria & Weisman, a Boston law firm. Her mother is an organizational consultant to small businesses in West Newton.
The bridegroom, 30, is to become a law clerk in October for Judge Charles S. Haight Jr. of the Federal District Court in Manhattan. He graduated from the State University at Binghamton and received a master's degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina before receiving his law degree this May from Yale. His mother is the director of the Den for Grieving Kids, a program of Family Centers, a social services agency in Greenwich, Conn., that assists children who have recently lost a family member. She is also a member of the adjunct faculty in the psychology department at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. Mr. Lewin's father is a senior editor of social studies and history textbooks at Prentice Hall in Upper Saddle River, N.J.
The bride and bridegroom met six years ago at the Seeds of Peace summer camp, where Ms. Adelson was then a counselor and Mr. Lewin was the program director. They began dating that fall.
Maybe nothing, but anytime I see this type of stuff I raise an eyebrow. Mom was also in the psychology dept at a college.
