Dash Snow was the grandson of Robert Thurman (Uma's dad) & Marie Christophe de Ménil, great-grandson of John & Dominique de Ménil (2 very famous art collectors & patrons) and great-great-grandson of Conrad Schlumberger who founded the oil-equipment company Schlumberger Ltd.
There's also a Houston Texas & old French-German connection in this family. Could be worth a deeper dig.
