I don't know how far it goes back. Different people claim different things based on their research. Sadly, the bad guys are in the fray throwing out mountains of misinformation to discredit everyone who is on the right track and to send everyone possible down the wrong tracks.
I personally think it has been going on for hundreds of years; perhaps thousands. This is the big trick of the elite - they figured out how to create slaves out of their own children. This gives them an enormous (secret) advantage against everyone else. It makes perfect sense how the whole system fits together. What they do and what they require of those in the inner circles is so repugnant that nobody involved dares say anything because they'd be ridiculed/destroyed/incarcerated by the population.
