That seems unlikely based on the information currently available about the 737 Max crashes. There are quite a few good YTs explaining what likely happened (bad AOA sensor triggered inappropriate response by MCAS system). The crashes could have been prevented by shutting off two switches in the cockpit. Possible problems with marketing, FAA approval process, pilot training.
