Ty, for your educating post.

"Make our democracies smaller" is a thought that the EU e.g. tries to sell, while they are centralising power in Brussels (away from the citizens' influence, they will 'grant' them smaller democracy ,where citizens can organise themselves…

Too me that reeks of collectivism.

Communism and socialism always made the people believe that they all together were the owners of property and had a say in everything.

Same with 'democracy'. There seems to be no solution to this dilemma.

Prof. Jordan Peterson is on the opinion that mankind and animals too are organising themselves inevitably in hierarchies, hierarchical structures. He says that this is part of our biology and that it would be nice, if we used our intellect to 1.) understand our biology and not fight it and 2.) strive to build our hierarchical structures based on merits =meritocracies.
