The former wife of a suspect in numerous murders at a remote mountain compound has received death threats and will say nothing more about the case to police until the authorities grant her immunity from prosecution, her lawyer said today.

The lawyer, Stan Rozanski, would not say how many theats his client, Claralyn Balazs, had received.

Miss Balazs is the former wife of Leonard Lake, who committed suicide June 2 after his arrest for shoplifting. They married in 1981 and separated the next year. She is an owner of the site in Calaveras County, about 150 miles east of San Francisco, where authorities say some 25 people may have been tortured and murdered. Teams of officers have found 15 to 20 pounds of bone fragments in the area and searchers continued their work today.
