"Speed" I think is a reference to why they were taken out, as in they were running from the evil too fast which completely gave them away that they knew shit they shouldn't. With something like this you can't freak out and flee or signal to the enemy that you know something. If they think your comped or your a risk they'll off you. So you have to appear ignorant to it all
