The Mueller excuse is dead. Declassification of materials can't interfere with Mueller's pogrom. Trump can let Barr duke it out with Congress on what to do with the Mueller report - the real action is OUTSIDE of the Mueller report.
They prefer it NOT be made public. That way they can fill the arena with baseless accusation, insinuation and speculation. Same trick that was successfully used to get the with-hunt underway in the first place.
They will claim that since the DOJ is not showing what it has, that what it has must be bad news for Trump, and that is why it is being kept hidden.
By that same logic (absence of indictment is a sign of wrongdoing), the DEMs are all criminals.
Simple trick. They demand it be made public knowing or thinking it will not. They will transmogrify absence of finding of wrong into speculation that wrong exists and is being kept hidden to protect the orange man.
Speculation as news. It's all the rage.
