You cannot be an atheist because you cannot prove a negative to a conclusion of absolute scientific fact. You can say agnostic-atheist, meaning, you lead to the conclusion that there probably isn't a God, and that'd be a logical POV to have considering what we know here.
You can also say that your desire to pray for justice to be done on behalf of all those that have suffered to the evil of this world is based on a moral compass guided by universal principals that wouldn't be conceivable without some glimmer of hope that a supreme being of righteousness actually exists.
Pretty difficult to reconcile, isn't it?
