Some strange articles about the Standard Hotel:

January 31, 2018. Kimberly Lynne Watzman, the general manager of the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood, was one of the three people killed in a helicopter crash in Newport Beach.
Another person who died was Brian Reichelt of Hollywood, Fla. Reichelt, who was the regional finance director for the Standard’s parent company.
The third person who died was Joseph Anthony Tena, 60, of Newport Beach, who apparently was the pilot. All three were connected to the luxury hotel chain. December 13, 2015. A fight between a suspect and four other people inside the Standard, a luxury hotel in downtown Los Angeles — exploded into gun violence early Sunday that left one person dead, one paralyzed and three others wounded.
Investigators said the altercation began between the 10th and 12th floor of the hotel over access to a birthday party. The altercation moved down to the lobby and continued onto the hotel's parking lot, LAPD said.
The station later reported that the man who died was 21 years old, and would have turned 22 later this month. The Standard, located in the 500 block of South Flower Street, is a celebrity hotspot and has been the setting for several film and television productions.

September 15, 2014, By Seth Abramovitch. The 24-hour party vibe of the Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles ground to a halt Monday afternoon when a man leaped 12 floors to his death from the hotel's rooftop lounge.
Owned by hotelier Andre Balazs, the downtown outpost of the Standard opened in 2002 in what was the Superior Oil Company Building, a steel-and-marble modernist structure originally built in 1956. The building was added in 2003 to the National Register of Historic Places.
In the years since, Balazs has opened another Standard in Miami Beach and two more in New York City.
It was in one of the latter — a tower straddling lower Manhattan's elevated walkway known as the High Line — that Jay Z famously got into an elevator tussle with sister-in-law Solange Knowles as wife Beyonce looked on.
