If he was prosecuting both sides, they'd know he was comped/converted, and as long as they thought he was their man, they were lax. He was part of their insurance policy. If your dog starts biting you, you put it down.

So… he didn't bite them, but instead was a nice happy dog doing what was told until everyone was seated nice and comfy in the lounge room. Now, they've just heard the front door lock shut, and suddenly, nice dog starts growling…

THAT'S why.

I feel like… like it's Total Recall (the good 1988 one).

You don't know if Hauser really was flipped or not. You spend all this time with Quaid (lol) and he goes through the mission… that's Mueller right now. He's Quaid. He used to be Hauser. Did he flip? Didn't he?

Whatever happened, whether out of self interest, a need to recant, or fighting for what he always was but just couldn't be… after he came out of that four hour meeting, he was… Quaid.

So he's playing the 'good guy who became a bad guy became a good guy but still had to play a bad guy' role.

Pretty fucking hardcore, really.

You're spot on with the twatter damage control. It's utterly ludicrous.
