in 6th grade they had the 'map skills' box and the kids would get the maps and do the stuff 'in their own time' and they were color coded.

I remember one kid and she was at the end of the box. There were far too many that you could do that no one could ever really finish the whole box of 'map skills'.

and we were supposed to self grade them too.

My quess, in 6th grade, is that the girl was cheating and just copying the answers and didn't really finish them .

It was my first real view of how some were treated special over others, and let to get away with things. OR maybe it was a measure of who would and would not cheat?
