>agree erasing prev notables is sketchy
Please provide evidence how this is happening.
It is baker's discretion which notables to include in each bread he bakes.
Bakers cannot "erase" anything from previous breads, only the mods can do that.
Mods only delete illegal content or blatant, repetitive spam from the threads.
It is generally accepted among bakers that we do not edit other bakers notes from prev. breads as far as notables go but "Globals" is a separate category.
It is each baker's choice whether to add or remove Globals, there is no expectation that a previous baker's choices there will be permanent.
And like "notables," "Globals" are bakers discretion, it's not up to an Anon vote. Baker should take anon feedback into account, but baker makes his own executive decision based on the trust anons put in baker to apply our objective standards in QR's best interest.
Anons are still in an active discussion how to define and maintain Globals.
It is this Anon's strong opinion that Globals should NOT become the stickied perma-notable prize for "most important notable ever" because it's too tantalizing a prize not to invite fuggery and infighting. Dedicated threads found in the catalog are the place to draw attention/discussion to special topics.
It is also my opinion that Globals should remain limited to their original intent: IN-BOARD ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS. They should never promote outside sites or be used for activism.
This particular Global is an edge-case. It's not necessarily promoting Qmap.pub, but it could be argued that's the case. Were I baker, I'd remove it on grounds of erring on the safe side. But neither do I think it's a blatant violation of the purpose of Globals to leave it in a few days.
