A BRITISH couple captured by Somali pirates on their yacht near the Seychelles last year have finally been freed after for a reported ransom of a million dollars.

Paul and Rachel Chandler, arrived in Adado, a central Somali town near the Ethiopian border, after the pirates handed them over, 388-days after their kidnapping ordeal.
Some elders say the total ransom might have reached close to a million US dollars, believed to have been gathered by the Chandler family and members of the Somali diaspora.
The couple, from the southern English region of Kent , were kidnapped on October 23 last year, a day after leaving the Seychelles, where they had spent several weeks on holiday.
Mrs Chandler, who was held separately from her husband for several months, told reporters they were not well treated.
