It took a lot longer when this anon hand-coded the fractal iteration code for a 80387 math co-processor circa 1985. I spent a few years exploring the Mandelbrot set, hoping to discover something hidden in there. Always intriguing, always beautiful, but I didn't discover what I hoped to find.
