This is absolutely huge.
Normally the leadership of a political party is a tremendous undertaking. Leadership conventions etc. And with the added implication that the winner will become Prime Minister?
But that is not what's happening here.
They're saying basically "OK guys, one of us is going to be leader. We're selecting someone, If it isn't you, put your ego aside and STFU. We don't want our dirty laundry being aired, but most importantly, we must make sure we change leadership ourselves rather than having the Brexiters force us through an election. We must stay in power at all costs, even if that means curbing your leadership ambitions."

I had that Disney book & record as a kid.
First time my dad put it on, he played it at the wrong speed (45 instead of 33 rpm). Learned to do that for almost everything to see how it sounded different.
Still do that on YT vids, playing back at 1.5x or 2x (but moar to save time).
And yes I learned the briar patch lesson from there too.
