The stopping by the side of the road is bizarre. One of the more interesting explanations I've heard came from Dammegard who said the initial shooting appears fake, but when he goes back the bullets seem real, and the "bodies" we're probably traded out for dummies. That actually clicked to me bc you can see impact by the bullets on his second round and you can also see bullets come out of gun properly at times.
Either way, he appears to be a real life Jason Bourne who had been on missions for the past 7yrs for the clowns and then they turned him into a patsy.
