We keep getting questions in the
Memes thread from memeanons
who don't tweet, who don't bother
reading the social media guidelines
we provide in the top of each memes
bread, about twitter image shape.
So here, once again, is the definitive answer.
Twitter in-stream photos should be twice as wide as they are high.
////////////////// 2:1 wide:high /////////////////
Also if any are larger than 1024x512,
Twitter will resize them to no wider than 1024 pixels high / 512 pixels high.
So there is really no point in making higher resolution images for Tweeting, because Twitter resizes them down anyway.
Again, 2:1
Twice as wide as high.
Examples attached.
This may require the autist to change their thinking about how to lay out the image and text on the graphic. (pic 3-4)
You also have the option to make a vertical image, and center it on a 1024 x 512 background. (pic 5)
But the result is less pleasing visually
and you end up with very small text
that is hard to read.
So think about it before you spend hours making a graphic that is not going to display very well on Twitter.
Understand the medium and its limitations.
Then work within it, to the max.
