An oft-forgotten portion of the IG report from last summer details the "concern" that FBI/DOJ personnel had over the public comments Obama made concerning the Clinton email investigation. Of course, nobody had "any idea" who could've leaked information to the WH which wound up in a press conference. While some might assume that Obama was sending a message to the investigative team, given the Page/Strzok messages it's likely that someone was giving him updates the whole time.
