Agree; modern art is essentially nihilistic and more about death and destruction and ugliness than life and beauty. Skills such as drawing and perspective are often not even taught in art schools here in the UK. Instead, the accolades go to students who come up with the most dark, so called "conceptual" art which is not art at all. There is little or no skill required, only an ability to shock.
