Children have grown up around unimaginable suffering, violence, evil, and death for all of human history.
The culture we live in now actually severely shelters children from reality, to the point where their entire world becomes an esoteric safe bubble.
The answer to strengthen the spirit of young people and build character isn't "stop them from seeing anything bad."
The answer is "build their moral character on a foundation that is strong enough for them to bear all the other horrifying truths of reality, without allowing their "soul" to be corrupted by them.
Raising them as a Christian is a common method to accomplish this, although certainly not the only way.
For instance, I have been drawn to and watched extremely violent movies and games my entire life. Not anything to be proud of, just naturally have had a high tolerance and curiosity towards it.
However, I was raised in a strict Christian household where morality, strength of character, and fighting every day to be a better person was the chief concern.
Amazingly, I haven't become a serial killer yet.
If you buy into this "muh video games, muh violence, muh children" narrative, you are part of the problem.
It's time we stop SHIELDING our children from reality, and instead instill things in them that make them STRONG enough to face it.
And when it is appropriate to shield a child from something age inappropriate, that is the PARENTS job. NOT GOVERNMENT.
Censorship is NEVER the answer.
I get what you're saying, but honestly it's not really a skillset that's easily taught. In reality, I'd rather not waste time trying to teach methods. I'd rather just make graphics, and pass the baton to the anons that kill it on social media.
There are many good content creators that are always around, and they understand the side-by-side "confirmation" graphic method very well.
Once something important and graphic worthy happens, you will see a all kinds of side-by-sides spammed on the board that are meme ready.
