Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Donald Trump Jr. reacted to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) saying Sunday there is “significant evidence of collusion” between President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia despite special counsel Robert Mueller not indicting anyone from the Trump campaign for crimes related to conspiring with Russia in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump said, “We handed over our e-mails. I did 27-something hours of testimony in front of congressional committees. Do you know what happened? You go to the meeting at the end of seven-hour testimony —’guys, do you have any more questions?’ Ask them. Go look at the records. ‘Do you have questions?’ ‘No, we have none.’ Guys like Dick Blumenthal go out on the steps of Congress thirty seconds later and say there are many questions that were not answered. It’s nonsense. It’s a game.”
He added, “You got the leader of the tinfoil hat brigade, Adam Schiff, talking about the evidence of collusion that he has seen. He’s flagrantly lying to the American people. He’s doing it every day on national television. He’s gotten more air time, amazingly enough, than Michael Avenatti, but they’re about of the same level of credibility and there’s no accountability for that, Tucker. When you’re on that side, you have the media carrying your water for you. You can say whatever you want. When you’re on our side, even when you’re right, even when you’re proven so, there’s a level of culpability. There are reproductions for being a conservative that you don’t face on the other side.”

Pollak: The Russia Collusion Hoax Is The Media’s Credit Crisis
The Russia collusion hoax was not just the product of disgruntled Hillary Clinton staffers, corrupt Barack Obama appointees, and partisan “deep state” operatives.
It also relied on the willing participation of biased journalists who wanted to punish Donald Trump for winning the 2016 presidential election over their objections.
But in practice, the Russia collusion hoax functioned much like any other bubble — for example, the subprime mortgage crisis.
The stock market crash of 2008 — which, coincidentally, helped bring Obama to power — happened because of false guarantees and rampant speculation. The credit ratings agencies played a crucial role: they often blessed mortgage-backed securities that were stuffed with bad loans, partly because they had a financial incentive to do so. By the time the contagion had spread throughout the financial market, it was almost too late to stop the financial collapse.
Our media work the same way. There are certain institutions that operate as ratings agencies, blessing news stories with the imprimatur of credibility. The New York Times is the “paper of record”; the Washington Post still dines out on Watergate; National Public Radio is considered intellectual; and CNN relies on a (fading) image of impartiality. After a decade of downsizing, few other outlets have the resources to devote to investigative, in-depth reporting.
Oher news outlets, both mainstream and alternative, often report the story of what these totemic news outlets are covering. (Indeed, they often cover each other’s stories.) Similarly, a link to the Times or CNN gives reported facts greater weight, saving time and energy that journalists would need to make independent confirmations. Wikipedia — though edited by a cabal of agenda-driven insiders — is often surreptitiously used to confirm claims in news stories.
Most of the time, facts are facts, and the main institutions check each other. When several institutions have a story wrong, however — as was the case with CNN, the Times, and the Post, both in predicting Clinton’s 2016 win and reporting on Russian collusion — the contagion spreads everywhere, until the lies are part of the system itself. The problem is not that fake news is spread by the fringes, but rather that the common repository of “fact” is itself fake.
With the completion and summary of the Mueller report, the Russia collusion story went instantly from a story that was regarded as heavily reported and exhaustively documented to a story that had no evidentiary basis whatsoever. The entire mainstream media collapsed.
The reporters are still tweeting; the pundits are talking; but their words are worthless. They have no credit, no credibility. And like the financial system, it will take years for them to recover.

Mitch McConnell: ‘No Collusion, No Conspiracy, No Obstruction’
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday called on Democrats to accept the outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and to stop trying to relitigate the 2016 election.
“Yesterday, Attorney General [William] Barr transmitted to Congress his summary of the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions from his investigation into Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 election. The result of that investigation is being hailed as good news for the president. It certainly is that. But really, it is good news for the country,” he said in a speech on the Senate floor.
“[T]he American people hired this president to clean up the mess of the preceding eight years. That’s exactly what we’ve set about doing. And the results are clear. The nation is clearly better off than it was two years ago,” he said in a Senate floor speech.
“So I sincerely hope that now, at last, our friends on the left will be able to put aside their fixation on permanently re-litigating their loss in 2016 and actually join in the productive work that the rest of us have been proudly engaged in for two years and counting,” he said.

MSM Journalists Turn on Obama CIA Director John Brennan
Former Obama CIA Director John Brennan faced a day of reckoning on Monday, after the Special Counsel investigation did not establish there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia after extensive investigation.
Although conservatives have long cast a wary eye at the former CIA director, whose hyper-partisan rants and high-profile role as a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC and MSNBC went beyond previous CIA chiefs in recent memory, mainstream media journalists, are now also questioning his credibility.
ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran on Sunday tweeted, along with a clip of a March 6 interview on MSNBC, “John Brennan has a lot to answer for — going before the American public for months, cloaked with CIA authority and openly suggesting he’s got secret info, and repeatedly turning in performances like this.”
During that interview, Brennan told The Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell that he predicted Mueller would conclude his report with “final indictments,” including potentially of Trump family members.
And MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough on Monday questioned Brennan on whether he received “bad information.”
But CNN political commentator Amanda Carpenter — a vociferous Trump critic herself — called on Brennan to “apologize” for throwing the word “treason” out when discussing Trump and the Russia investigation.
“At the very least, Brennan needs to apologize to the American people for giving them the idea that treason — big capital letters treason — was committed,” she said on CNN.
“He’s not just a regular pundit spouting off. He was a former CIA director. And I don’t know about you guys, but when a former CIA director speaks, I listen, because I believe they have credibility, and now he’s backtracking and saying, ‘Well maybe I had bad information.’ He needs to flesh that out a little more,” she said.
“John Brennan should have been more careful,” she added.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders shared a “Mueller Madness” bracket from the New York Post, ridiculing all of the fake news pundits for getting the investigation wrong.
“Mueller Madness!” she wrote on Twitter. “Which of the angry and hysterical Donald Trump haters got it most embarrassingly wrong? #YouDecide.”
The bracket was published by New York Post op-ed editor Sohrab Ahmari on Monday night, as Trump supporters fired back at the biased pundits for getting the verdict from Special Counsel Robert Mueller so wrong.
“The president’s haters no doubt wish to memory-hole collusion and move on to the next anti-Trump theory,” he wrote. “But not so fast: We want to laurel the punditry ‘champion’ — the one who peddled the most nonsensical nonsense, the wildest inanities, the weirdest theories and unsubstantiated stories.”

Rand Paul: Time to Investigate Obama Officials Who Spread Russia Hoax
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Monday called for an investigation into Obama administration officials for their alleged roles in concocting and spreading the idea that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia.
“Time to investigate the Obama officials who concocted and spread the Russian conspiracy hoax!” Paul tweeted.
Paul became the second senator, after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, to call for an investigation into Obama officials who were responsible for pushing the Russia narrative.
While the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid Fusion GPS to produce the dossier alleging there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, numerous Obama administration officials were involved in spreading it.
Fusion GPS co-founded Glenn Simpson and the author of the dossier, ex-British spy Christopher Steele, would shop the dossier to Obama officials at the State Department, the Justice Department, the FBI, and members of the media.
According to the New York Times, former FBI Director James Comey discussed with unnamed White House officials what to do about Russian interference in the election, including writing an op-ed. “The president replied that going public would play right into Russia’s hands by sowing doubts about the election’s legitimacy.”
But Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan reportedly was “so concerned” he gave an “unusual private briefing in the late summer” on the dossier to then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), according to the Times.
The dossier was used by FBI and DOJ officials to obtain a surveillance warrant on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
After the election, Comey briefed the dossier, which was promptly leaked to CNN, to President-elect Trump, with then-Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper as the prime leaker suspect. CNN reported on the briefing, prompting BuzzFeed to publish the dossier in full.
However, involvement of Obama-era officials did not stop there. Anonymous former and current officials leaked to media outlets intelligence and other material to suggest a conspiracy between Trump associates and Russia.
One infamous case involved the leak of highly-classified material to the Washington Post, about Trump’s incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and his alleged conversations with then-Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.
That and numerous other leaks by former and current officials continued to spread the narrative that Trump associates colluded with Russia, with the assistance of mainstream media news outlets willing to publish them.
