'Investigate the investigators!' Republicans go on offense targeting Jim Comey, Loretta Lynch, James Clapper and other Russiagate names as White House turns aggressive and Lindsey Graham vows to 'get answers'

Senior White House aide says it's fair to 'investigate the investigators' when something as broad as the Mueller russia probe 'falls apart'

Republicans are going on offense, vowing to get to the bottom of the spread of a narrative that the special counsel debunked

They say Democrats, including some in former president Obama's orbit, weaponized the idea of Russia collusion and should be held accountable

Sen. Lindsey Graham vowed to use the Senate Judiciary Committee to investigate, and Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani predicted names would emerge

Vice President Mike Pence hinted at anger over 'reckless accusations by many Democrats and members of the media'

Boston Herald editorial summed up the mood in Washington

'History will outlive the activists on CNN and it is our responsibility to shed light on the motives behind the machinations to undermine a duly elected president'

As the dust settled Monday on the Mueller probe's final curtain-closing, Republicans in Washington swung from defense to offense, calling for new deep-dives into a cast of characters who started and fueled the lengthy Russia-conspiracy chase.

A day after Special Counsel Robert Mueller exonerated President Trump from claims that he colluded with Russia to win his election, his spokespersons, lawyers and partisan advocates blanketed the airwaves and the Internet with demands for Obama administration officials and Justice Department insiders to face their own scrutiny.

'If we're all serious about getting to the truth and not just scoring political points,' a senior White House official told DailyMail.com on Monday, 'you really have to be willing to investigate the investigators after something this far-reaching falls apart.'

Senior Trump aides Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Sanders blanketed the airwaves Monday morning with similar recommendations. Conway called for Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to resign.

But James Comey, James Clapper, John Brennan, Loretta Lynch, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page and other current and former government officials went from heroes to potential villains in the blink of a political news cycle when South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham spoke to the press

Trump Campaign demands MSM ban liars

Trump campaign tells TV producers to ban Democrats who claimed there was evidence of Russia collusion

The memo calls out Sen. Blumenthal and Reps. Nadler, Swalwell and Schiff

Also mentions former CIA Director John Brennan

The memo pulls up quotes claiming Trump collusion with Russia

Asks networks to employ 'basic journalistic standards'

Also suggests challenging the guests on their prior statements

Push comes as President Trump called critics 'treasonous' and new GOP efforts to investigate the investigators who pursued

Attorney General Barr's summary of Mueller report says it found no conspiracy between Trump camp and Russian government-backed hacking

It took no position on whether Trump obstructed justice

President Donald Trump's reelection campaign is taking its fight against Russia 'collusion' critics to the airwaves, pushing TV producers not to host prominent Democrats who talked up conspiracy charges that didn't pan out.

The effort, revealed in a memo by Trump's campaign communications director, urged by TV producers to keep in mind guests who he claims made 'outlandish' and 'false claims,' and cites Attorney General Bill Barr's summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's findings.

Communications Director Tim Murtaugh's letter singles out two powerful committee chairs – Reps. Jerold Nadler and Adam Schiff – as well as Rep. Eric Swalwell of the House Intelligence Committee and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez and Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.

It also lists former CIA Director John Brennan, a favorite target of President Trump's.

All are a staple of TV bookers and are unlikely to be blacklisted by the campaign's request.

Nevertheless, the Trump camp compiled statements from each that says the guests should be asked about if and when they appear. The memo was reported by Axios.

Blumenthal stated on MSNBC that the 'evidence is pretty clear that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.'

CNN CANS GERAGOS

Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos is DROPPED by CNN after he was named as a co-conspirator in Michael Avenatti extortion case against Nike

CNN dropped celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos as a network contributor on Monday, after he was named in an extortion case involving Michael Avenatti

On Monday celebrity attorney Michael Avenatti was charged with extortion for allegedly trying to extort $25M from Nike

Court papers listed a second defendant as a cooperating witness that was named to be Geragos by the Wall Street Journal

Geragos is famous for representing high profile clients including Michael Jackson, Colin Kaepernick, and Jussie Smollett

This month he appeared on CNN to defend his client Empire actor Smollett

The 61-year-old attorney is yet to comment on the case

Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos was dropped from CNN after he was identified as a co-conspirator in an extortion criminal case involving fellow celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti.

A spokesperson for the network said Geragos, who has represented high-profile clients including Jussie Smollett, Colin Kaepernick, and Michael Jackson, is 'no longer a CNN contributor' – but failed to give a reason explaining why, as per The Wrap.

He was cut from the network Monday evening hours after his reputation came under fire when he was named as the unidentified co-conspirator listed in court papers filed Monday that charged Avenatti with extortion.

The extortion charge alleges Avenatti tried to extort a whopping $25million from Nike to keep quiet about the 'college basketball scam', based on damning information obtained by his client, a college basketball coach.

The papers listed a second defendant as a cooperating witness – later named to be Geragos as per a Wall Street Journal report.

A source who spoke with DailyMail.com said that the lawyer is Geragos, the same man who represented Nike client Colin Kaepernick in his lawsuit against the NFL and is currently defending Jussie Smollett.

The 61-year-old hasn't responded to requests for comment.

Geragos has become a household name in the media world after representing a string of celebrities including Winona Ryder, Chris Brown and wife killer Scott Peterson.
