Mike Pence Reportedly Begged DNI Dan Coats Not to Quit Trump Administration
According to a report from NBC News, Pence convinced Coats to stay in the Trump administration until at least the summer after Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, current and former officials told the outlet. Coats reportedly sided with Defense Secretary James Mattis on the policy, according to NBC News, but didn’t know what to do after Mattis’ resignation. Pence then convinced Coats to stay on for longer, arguing that another top national security official’s resignation following Mattis’ would look very bad for the president.
Pence has reportedly smoothed many patches between Trump and Coats, often “encouraging [Coats] to continue the work he’s doing and reiterating that he has the support of the White House,” while encouraging Trump to keep Coats on.

Judge issues devastating decision in lawsuit by 'Black Lives Matter' leader against Fox News and Judge Jeanine
A judge shut down a defamation lawsuit from Black Lives Matter leader DeRay Mckesson against Judge Jeanine Pirro and Fox News on Monday.
The lawsuit was tossed out of court based on Pirro's First Amendment right to free speech.
Mckesson filed the lawsuit in 2017 and alleged that Pirro had defamed him during a commentary she offered on "Fox& Friends" where she said he was blameworthy for injuries to a police officer during a Black Lives Matter protest he organized in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Trump, House Republicans meet to line up support for new NAFTA
The USMCA would replace NAFTA, if simple majorities in the House and Senate approve it.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with a number of House Republicans later Tuesday as the White House steps up efforts to increase support for the proposed trade agreement to replace NAFTA.
The afternoon meeting comes after Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer courted House Democrats earlier this month with closed-door meetings on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. It would replace the North American Free Trade Agreement if simple majorities in the House and Senate approve it.
Kevin Brady, ranking member on the Ways and Means Committee, said Monday night that he does not know how many GOP lawmakers have accepted the White House invitation for the session.
However, Brady said he and Vern Buchanan of Florida, the top Republican on the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, will discuss their outreach efforts to GOP colleagues to back the proposed trade agreement. Brady said Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana also is part of their drive to solidify Republican votes for the three-way pact.
“The president is going to meet with us about his trade agenda, specifically about our effort we recently kicked off to support passage of USMCA,” said Brady of Texas. “We’ll work for the next month or so to build support for passage.”
