Trust is a risky proposition. People should be very stingy with it. The people you trust can abuse that trust and hurt you.

 

having studied in depth maybe 20 stories in 20 years, I have found that the press NEVER reflects reality. It ALWAYS gets the story wrong. To an exceptional degree in ConCath, Collusion, and a few others, but ALWAYS to some extent.

 

To expect the press to perform on honest self-examination is naive. The fix is for the public to distrust the media. That is nature's way. Presume they lie โ€“ then if the issue or fact matters to you, dig for yourself.
