Why do I have a sneaking suspicion this has to do with the arrests of Garagose and Avenatti?
This case is sealed and he forfeited his bond and charges were dropped. This is a deal with the prosecutor.
This is why I think this is how they got Garagose, who as you know, was representing Smollett AND involved in the extortion of Nike. Smollet must have played a role in that which is now conveniently under seal.
