All articles about the story explain how a Smollett family member was involved in the messaging chain. Tina Tchen and Jurnee Smollett have a relationship together. They were at the United State of Women Summit at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, on May 5, 2018. Michelle Obama was also there. I know I am still only offering speculation, but trying to apply logic.
Many stories say a family member of Smollet was involved. She seems the most logical choice for the redacted name.
