Any lawfags lurking? I'm thinking that since they dropped the charges, instead of an exoneration, he can still be tried if somehow honest prosecutors find their way into Cook County. As far as I know, double jeopardy only applies to cases brought to trial, and this hasn't gone to trial, just indictments and dropping of charges. Is this right, or is the prospect of an honest person getting into Cook County government so preposterous that we should grab our torches and pitch forks?
