Personally, I haven't figured out what POTUS's angle is with Israel and I'm always open to ideas, but the above is curiously true no matter how you frame this situation.
I will also add that Israel is basically blackmail central at least for the Middle East. If Israel can be dealt with and the blackmail ports get closed down, we've got a better chance of this whole operation unfolding more effectively. Maybe it's the blackmail angle and maybe it's not… but this is the most I've been able to think through so far.
