Trump Campaign Official Michael Caputo: I Reported the 58th Threat Against My Family to Police this Week – Was Told to Be On Guard

Former Trump campaign adviser Michael Caputo joined Laura Ingraham on Tuesday following the release of the Mueller Report on Sunday.

Michael Caputo told Laura his family received their 58th threat online this past weekend after Mueller exonerated President Trump in his two year long witch hunt.

Michael Caputo: I spent the day today at my local police department reporting what is about the 58th threat of violence and death against my family. This came in on Sunday night at 9:02 PM on Facebook. It’s not just how much money we spent or what jobs we lost, the homes we lost the revenue opportunities we lost, the tuition payments for our children. It’s not just that, none of us are safe. You know, I talked to a criminal psychologist who I’ve worked with who helped me in this two year period… He told me that now is when we have to be careful because the most unhinged of the resistance now don’t have a report to look forward to. Now they’re going to get really crazy. And some of them are going to go on the attack.

Fired FBI Director Jim Comey Turns on Bob Mueller – Calls His Report “Confusing” After Trump is Found Innocent

Fired FBI Director Jim Comey wandered out of woods tonight to deliver a speech at the Belk Theatre in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Comey lashed out at his close friend Robert Mueller for failing to invent collusion against President Trump.

Cmey called the Mueller Report “confusing” and he “can’t quite understand what’s going on with the obstruction stuff.”

Former FBI chief James Comey said in a speech Tuesday evening that he is confused by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s reasoning on charging President Trump with obstruction of justice.

Mr. Comey told his audience that while he had “great faith” in Mr. Mueller, the special counsel essentially punted on the matter, neither recommending that Mr. Trump be charged nor exonerating him.

“The part that’s confusing is, I can’t quite understand what’s going on with the obstruction stuff,”

IDF hits Gaza 'terrorist targets' in 2nd straight night of bombing as troops mass at border

Israeli planes have fired on several Hamas military targets in southern Gaza in a second night of airstrikes, responding to rocket fire as PM Benjamin Netanyahu seems prepared to ramp up hostilities with a close election looming.

The IDF reportedly attacked a Hamas military compound and a weapons manufacturing site in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, responding to a lone rocket attack that landed "harmlessly." The Israeli bombardment was followed by another projectile, which also failed to hit its target, the IDF said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Netanyahu ordered an infantry brigade and artillery battalion to the southern border after meeting with IDF chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi.

On Monday night, the IDF pummeled over 15 targets in northern Gaza in response to a barrage of Hamas rockets, tanking any chance of an Egypt-mediated ceasefire negotiated earlier that day going into effect. The two sides exchanged fire through the night.

After ordering the airstrikes, Netanyahu cut short his AIPAC victory lap to fly back to Israel following US President Donald Trump's unilateral declaration to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights – a resolution condemned by every other country that has weighed in on the matter.

"I can tell you, we are prepared to do a lot more," Netanyahu told the pro-Israel lobbying conference by satellite link after returning home, boasting that the IDF had bombarded Gaza harder than at any point since 2014's Operation Protective Edge, the seven-week offensive against Hamas that saw more than 2,100 Gazans killed and over 7,000 homes destroyed. "We will do what is necessary to defend our people and to defend our state." The Israeli PM faces a formidable political challenge to his 12-year reign in next month's elections in the form of IDF chief Benny Gantz and Netanyahu rival Yair Lapid's Blue and White coalition.

Andrew Little, the minister in charge of the GCSB and SIS, has signed off more spy warrants since March 15

The minister in charge of New Zealand's spy agencies, Andrew Little, says he has signed off more surveillance warrants since the Christchurch terror attack on March 15.

But, speaking to the Herald, Little would not say exactly how many people were now being spied on as a result of the attack.

"There is usually between 30 and 40 people at any one time at various states of being either under surveillance or considered for it.

"That number will be bigger now and it will be at various ends of the people-of-interest scale."

Little said he had "authorised new activity", such as surveillance and intrusive activity, since the attack.

But he wouldn't detail numbers or the nature of that activity.

He said a warrant could be anything from physical surveillance to telecommunications activity.

"The whole gambit of what would otherwise be described as intrusive activity.

"The purpose of a warrant is to authorise and effectively make lawful what would otherwise be unlawful activity."

Little is the minister responsible for the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) and the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB).

He has the final say over which people the agencies spy on and signs off all warrants.

Speaking to the Security and Intelligence Select Committee last month, NZSIS Director Rebecca Kitteridge said in terms of terrorism and violent extremism, at any one time around 30 people were of particular interest to the SIS, although the number was not static.

As a result of the investigations into the Christchurch attacks, Little said: "new activity is leading to other individuals being identified".

"All individuals identified need to be the subject of some level of investigation; some of those may find that they are under a more intense level of investigation, including surveillance."

He was not able, however, to go into much detail without compromising the ability for those investigations to be conducted.

Little wouldn't say if the people, who had come under surveillance since the attacks, were white extremists.

"The agencies have responsibilities for investigating terrorism and violent extremism of all sorts.

"That is the category of work that is leading to more people being either considered persons of interest and being put under varying levels of investigation and surveillance."

Trump Tries To Undo North Korea Sanctions - Gets Sabotaged By His Own Staff

Last week saw some confusion within the Trump administration about sanctions against North Korea. A Trump tweet seemed to contradict his own administration's policies. The White House then thought up an implausible explanation for what Trump had done. The face saving measure worked, but new leaks now again undermine him.

U.S. media reported of the episode but missed a major point. The timeline below shows that the internal White House conflict was prompted by reactions from North Korea's side.

After bad weather and a strong sanctions regime against it, North Korea is running low on food. Last month its ambassador to the UN requested food assistance:

Kim, the ambassador to the U.N., said record-high temperatures, drought and flooding last year shaved more than 500,000 tons off of the 2018 harvest from the nearly 5 million tons produced in 2017.

Humanitarian assistance from the U.N. agencies is “terribly politicized,” he said, and sanctions against North Korea are “barbaric and inhuman.”

On Thursday the 21st the Treasury Department, ignoring the dire situation, issued new sanctions (pdf) against two Chinese shipping companies that are trading with North Korea. It also named more North Korean vessels that it suspects to be involved in sanction busting efforts.

National Security Advisor John Bolton tweeted:

John Bolton @AmbJohnBolton - 18:31 utc - 21 Mar 2019

John Bolton Retweeted Treasury Department

Important actions today from @USTreasury; the maritime industry must do more to stop North Korea’s illicit shipping practices. Everyone should take notice and review their own activities to ensure they are not involved in North Korea’s sanctions evasion.

The next day North Korea reacted to the move by pulling its officers from the liaison office with South Korea:

Matt Lee @APDiploWriter - 9:25 utc - 22 Mar 2019

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — #SouthKorea says #NorthKorea has withdrawn its staff from an inter-Korean liaison office in North Korea.

The move was unexpected:

Seoul's Unification Ministry said Friday that North Korea informed South Korea of its decision during a contact at the liaison office at the North Korean border town of Kaesong.

The ministry calls the North's decision "regrettable." It says the North didn't give a specific reason for its move.

The liaison office opened last September as part of a flurry of reconciliation steps.

Cancer Cluster At California Elementary School Results In Removal Of Sprint Cell Phone Tower

A Sprint cell phone tower will be removed from a California elementary school after four students and three teachers were diagnosed with cancer.

Weston Elementary School in Ripon, CA went on high alert after the controversy erupted two years ago - with some parents even pulling their children from school over the tower which Sprint has been paying the school $2,000 per month to place on its property.

The Ripon Unified School District initially defended the cell phone tower earlier this month, with board president Kit Oase saying tests done on the tower had found it was operating within safety standards.

Monica Ferrulli, whose son was treated for brain cancer in 2017, said RUSD has cited an obsolete American Cancer Society study in keeping the tower in place since the controversy erupted two years ago. “It is just denial,” Ferrulli told the board. She vowed that parents will continue to fight and keep their children out of the school. -Modesto Bee

Around 200 parents attended a meeting after a fourth student was diagnosed with cancer on March 8.

Richard Rex, whose family lives across the street from Weston School, said a bump appeared on his 11-year-old son’s abdomen a month ago. He said his son’s classroom is near the tower.

The parents first thought it was a skating injury. Instead of going to science camp, 11-year-old Brad was taken to doctors for examinations and tests that found a tumor wrapped around his liver. The boy now has a portal for starting cancer treatment, the parents said.

Richard Rex said he’s hearing different options for treating the cancer. “They said they can shrink it and cut it out. They’re also talking liver transplant. It is very scary,” Rex said. -Modesto Bee

Sprint representative Adrienne Norton said that the company has been "working with the community in Ripon to address their concerns."

The potential negative health effects from electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by cell towers or transmission lines have been long debated. While the National Cancer Institute cites studies which conclude that EMFs are a possible human carcinogen based on research which focused on childhood leukemia. The institute's website says there are no increased risks from brain tumors or other cancers based on European epidemiological studies.

According to notices posted by RUSD, the school district hired engineers for an evaluation in 2018 on the cell tower’s compliance with guidelines for limiting human exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The testing found exposure levels for people nearby were below the federal standard, the notices says. -Modesto Bee

So while parents are blaming the Sprint cell phone tower is responsible for the cancer cluster at Weston Elementary School - it's entirely possible that other environmental factors are at play.

Enemy Within: Declassified U.S. Documents Show Russian Oligarchs Supported NATO Expansion

Fifteen years after the then unknown Vladimir Putin took over the Russian presidency, analysts still puzzle over how he arrived in the position. Newly declassified documents from President Bill Clinton’s administration, released to bne IntelliNews, show how Putin's candidacy was a compromise after a fierce battle for power in Russia between pro-US oligarchs and pro-state conservatives. At stake was not just power in Russia, but the crucial question of Russia's relationship with the West.

Russia's 'oligarchy' took power during Yeltsin’s re-election in 1996, when they used his reliance on funding from Russia's leading seven bankers to acquire the cream of the country's resource-producing assets.

According to the documents from the Clinton administration, which were released under a mandatory declassification review, one of the chief ideologists of Russia's freshly minted oligarch system was Russian-Israeli banker and media magnate, Vladimir Gusinsky, owner of Most Bank and TV channel NTV.

Gusinsky came to a November 1996 lunch meeting with US embassy officials with an important message: the oligarchs were here to stay – but they should not be feared by the US. Oligarchy was a fitting governance system for Russia, and would put the country on a pro-US course.

"Russia, Gusinsky explained, was not a democratic or a European country; it is an Asiatic country," he said, according to embassy records, with Gusinsky's name redacted but implicit. "The country was run by an oligarchy, of which businessmen like him were an integral part, and would be for some time," Gusinsky told the US diplomats.

"Our friends in the West" had been right to criticise the oligarchs in the past, he said, but now they had taken on "responsibilities for Russia's national interests”.

Gusinsky "did not deny that many Russian businessmen, including himself, had engaged in dubious activities, especially as they were setting up their operations and accumulating capital”, he told the diplomats. "Nevertheless, a number of big businessmen had now emerged – for example, Berezovsky's seven bankers [Boris Berezovsky himself, Vladimir Gusinsky, Mikhail Fridman, Vladimir Vinogradov, Aleksandr Smolensky, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Vladimir Potanin] – who were so big and influential that they no longer had to engage in such activities and no longer did," the document reads. Gusinsky claimed that allegations of oligarchs' links to organised crime were spread by Russia's security services, with the aim of stemming capital flight.
