CAUGHT ON TAPE: Michelle’s Chief of Staff Who Interfered In Smollett Case Admitted Her Son Has Illegal Immigrant Friends
Tina Tchen, the former Michelle Obama chief of staff who intervened for Jussie Smollett in his hate hoax case in Cook County, admitted in 2012 while working in the White House that her then-22-year old son has illegal immigrant friends.
Tchen let slip the comment in a 2012 meeting of the Akron Community Foundation’s Women’s Endowment Fund.
“We’re still trying to work on the DREAM Act,” Tchen says at the 50-second mark in the video below. “Senator Reid has announced that he will seek a vote on the freestanding DREAM Act. For those of you who don’t know what that is, this is a proposal to provide a pathway to legalization for young people who either complete a four-year college degree or are in the military.””
Because, we know — My son, my 22-year old out in Los Angeles has some friends in this position. Young people who came as babies and actually didn’t even know they weren’t documented,” Tchen said.

Tchen is a childhood friend of Rahm Emanuel’s wife and was recently put in charge of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s internal investigation into the sexual misconduct scandal centered on its founder Morris Dees, who was fired from the SPLC days ago.
Tchen runs the Times Up Legal Defense Fund, as reported by nextshark. By January, the fund — which focuses on sexual harassment advocacy — had raised more than $14 million.
Disgraced hate-crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett has longstanding ties to the Obamas.
Cook County state’s attorney Kim Foxx is pulling a favor for the Obamas by getting their “close friend” Jussie Smollett off with no charges. George Soros’ money largely helped put Foxx in office.

The Chicago Sun-Times just confirmed it: “Foxx’s call to Johnson came after an influential supporter of the “Empire” actor reached out to Foxx personally: Tina Tchen, a Chicago attorney and former chief of staff for former First Lady Michelle Obama, according to emails and text messages provided by Foxx to the Chicago Sun-Times in response to a public records request.
Tchen passed Foxx’s number to a relative of the actor, and the ensuing conversations with the family member were cited by Foxx last month as the reason she recused herself from Smollett’s prosecution as the actor faces disorderly conduct charges for allegedly making a false police report.
Text messages show Tchen contacted Foxx on Feb. 1, three days after Smollett said he was jumped by two men as he walked home from a sandwich shop near his Streeterville home. Tchen texted Foxx to set up an early morning phone call.
“I wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation,” Tchen wrote in a text sent before 5 a.m., seeking to set up a call with Foxx before Tchen left on an 8 a.m. flight to New York.
A few hours later, Foxx received a text from a relative of Smollett, who said she’d received the number from Tchen.”

A pair of presidential hopefuls joined forces on Thursday as a part of a rejuvenated effort to make lynching a federal hate crime.
Senate lawmakers passed an anti-lynching bill introduced by Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker and South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott.
The chamber first approved the bill in December, but the House never took up the measure. The Senate once again passed the bill unanimously on Thursday. The House is expected to pick up the bill this time.
The Justice for Victims of Lynching Act, introduced in June 2018, would make lynching a hate crime punishable by up to life in prison, according to the bill.

“Lynching is not a relic of a painful past – it is a present and pernicious evil that we still have yet to confront,” Booker, who launched a bid for the 2020 Democratic nomination this year, said in a statement Thursday. "I urge the House of Representatives to take up this bill so that after over 100 years and 200 attempts, we can finally make lynching a federal crime."

Booker and Harris, who is also vying for the 2020 Democratic nomination, have both referred to the alleged attack against "Empire" star Jussie Smollett as a "modern-day lynching" and evidence of why the bill should become law.
Smollett said he was attacked in Chicago last month by two men who hit him, yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him and placed a rope around his neck. The incident is still under investigation.

"Lynchings were acts of violence – they were horrendous acts of violence, and they were motivated by racism,” Harris said. “With this bill, we finally have a chance to speak the truth about our past and make clear that these hateful acts should never happen again. We can finally offer some long overdue justice and recognition to the victims of lynching and their families.”

Congressional lawmakers introduced more than 200 anti-lynching bills during the first half of the 20th century, but none were successful, according to the bill's authors.

"This has been a long arc, a painful history and a shameful history in this body," Booker said in a speech from the Senate floor in December. "At the height of lynchings across this country affecting thousands of people, this body did not act to make that a federal crime."

"At least now, the United States Senate has now acted," he added. "One hundred senators, no objections. I just want to give gratitude to this body for what we have just done."
If it passes the Democrat-led House, the bill would head to President Donald Trump's desk for his signature.

CNN’s Don Lemon spoke with Jussie Smollett attorney Patricia Brown Holmes and asked how her client was cleared of all charges despite First Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Joseph Magats directly saying today “I do not believe he’s innocent.”
She told Lemon it only “seemed” like an airtight case because people were “inappropriately” talking to the media and leaking “incomplete and inaccurate” information.
Lemon said he was “stunned” by the press conference in which both the police superintendent and the mayor trashed Smollett.
At one point as they went through the issues surrounding the case, Lemon asked, “Did someone potentially very important or influential do a favor, make a call on Jussie’s behalf?”
Lemon referenced in part the questions about former Michelle Obama chief of staff Tina Tchen‘s reported communications with Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, asking about the idea there was “political influence here.”
“No, there was no political influence in this case,” Holmes responded.

“Smallville” star Allison Mack is begging a judge to separate her case from accused Nxivm sex cult leader Keith Raniere’s — in the wake of fresh allegations that he abused children.
Mack’s team of lawyers made the request Friday in a filing that also seeks to have tossed out a superseding indictment against her, Raniere and their co-defendants.
“The Court should not allow evidence of Child Exploitation Acts before any jury that will judge Ms. Mack. As an initial matter, any evidence of the alleged Child Exploitation Acts would highly and unfairly prejudice Ms. Mack, who has no connection whatsoever to these new predicate acts or the substantive counts against Raniere,” the filing said. “Given the well-recognized inflammatory effect of such allegations, the Court should sever Ms. Mack from Raniere and order a separate trial.”
Prosecutors allege that Raniere, 58, had sexual relationships with children and made kiddie porn — and that Mack and her co-defendants Seagram heiress Clare Bronfman, Lauren Salzman and Kathy Russell “facilitated” the illicit affairs.
Mack, 36, was slapped with an additional racketeering charge — but her lawyers downplayed the new indictment as “barely changed” from the initial one but acknowledged that it added “disturbing allegations” against Raniere.
The one-time “Smallville” actress is charged with being Raniere’s right-hand woman, luring young women to the alleged cult as sex slaves.
Opening arguments in the trial are set for April 29.
