A grand jury convened to examine evidence collected by Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation is continuing to operate despite the end of Mueller's investigation over the weekend.

Bloomberg News reports that a federal prosecutor told a judge at a hearing Wednesday that the grand jury is operating "robustly" after Mueller's report on the Trump campaign and Russian election interference was handed to the Justice Department.

The grand jury is under license to continue gathering evidence until July, according to Bloomberg. Wednesday's hearing centered around whether the identity of a company that resisted subpoenas from Mueller's team of prosecutors would be released publicly.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC), Ranking Member of the Government Operations Subcommittee, raised serious concerns about Chairman Cummings’s decision to seek information and material unrelated to the Committee’s oversight of the federal government.

Jordan and Meadows sent two letters to Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The first letter asks why Chairman Cummings chose to use Committee resources to investigate a news organization’s editorial decision. The second letter seeks to understand Chairman Cummings’s decision to seek ten years of documents relating to the President’s personal finances from accounting firm Mazars USA.

Jordan and Meadows also wrote separately to Mazars USA expressing concerns with the Chairman’s inquiry.
