The DUP, which could make or break a vote on Friday now that several leading Brexiteers have tentatively given it their support, will presumably reveal how its 10 MPs plan to vote at a press conference on 2 pm ET. May will address the 1922 committee of Tory backbenchers at 1 pm ET (5 pm London Time).

But how will May circumvent Bercow's ruling that she can't bring the withdrawal agreement back for a third vote without substantial changes? Here's one theory.

Washington told Ukraine to end probe into George Soros-funded group during 2016 US election – report

An NGO co-funded by George Soros was spared prosecution in 2016 after the US urged Ukraine to drop a corruption probe targeting the group, the Hill reported, pointing to potential shenanigans during the US presidential election.

Bankrolled by the Obama administration and Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC) was under investigation as part of a larger probe by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office into the misallocation of $4.4 million in US funds to fight corruption in the eastern European country.

As the 2016 presidential race heated up back in the United States, the US Embassy in Kiev gave Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko “a list of people whom we should not prosecute” as part of the probe, the Hill reported. Ultimately, no action was taken against AntAC.

Lutsenko told the paper that he believes the embassy wanted the probe nixed because it could have exposed the Democrats to a potential scandal during the 2016 election.

A State Department official who spoke with the Hill said that while the request to nix the probe was unusual, Washington feared that AntAC was being targeted as retribution for the group’s advocacy for anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine.

AntAC wasn’t just the benefactor of well-connected patrons – at the time it was also collaborating with FBI agents to uncover then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s business dealings in Ukraine. Manafort later became a high-profile target of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian collusion, and was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for tax fraud and other financial crimes.

Lutsenko divulged in an interview with the Hill last week that he has opened an investigation into whether Ukrainian officials leaked financial records during the 2016 US presidential campaign in an effort to sway the election in favor of Hillary Clinton.

North Korea claimed this was related to its space program. But later, South Korea intelligence warned that it had detected hints of activity at a factory that the North had used to produce ICBMs.

Our Condolences go out to the victims of the New Zealand shootings. So many pious folks suffered the worst of humanity because of this psychotic rage. We believe the whole world can agree that the mentally infirm should not have access to guns. Tragically, it is sometmes impossible to tell who will snap until they do. The wake of destruction left by someone who goes postal is an appalling thing.

In 1993, America saw Mark Richard Hillburn go postal. This otherwise normal man became so angry that he shot two of his fellow post office employees, his mother, and even his dog.

After that, the Post office took action and put environmental analysts on the scene so their workplace would not become a catalyst for acts of mayhem and murder out of rage on their workplace.

At no time after this terrible tragedy did the United States Postal service consider censoring the mail in order to stop announcements of terrorist or violent threats.

People have always been free to say such things. However, threats of imminent violence are not protected speech. They are criminal in nature. There is a certain dualism to this. You are free to utter reprehensible and violent speech, but you are responsible for the consequences of what you say. An announcement of an upcoming murder, giving a time and a place, or maybe even the target, is criminal. Is not protected speech. Anyone who utters such things should expect to be arrested. However, there are no Tom Cruises out there with psychic assistance to stop someone from committing a crime before they commit it.

Time will tell as to what motives and mental sicknesses Brenton Harrison Tarrant had to cause him to go postal on a group of worshiping peaceful New Zealand citizens.

We know that he was an alien in New Zealand. He was not a citizen, yet he possessed firearms and used them to kill. Aliens committing horrendous crimes are not a new occurrence. America too has had awful gun violence committed by aliens.

We also extend our condolences to the family of Kate Steinle killed by illegal alien Jose Zarate in San Francisco. These tragedies happen. It is a sad thing. Yet we can’t just shut our borders and stop people from coming to our great country. Nor can New Zealand. a country known for their independence and freedom. The murderer Brent Harrison, an alien of New Zealand, wrote a manifesto about his feelings for Islamic people. It was not found until after his murders already took place.

There was no way the police in New Zealand could have known about the imminent attack without resorting to Orwellian police tactics. I am certain law enforcement in New Zealand would never consider such things. All they had to find him was a solitary post on a bulletin board with a link to a Facebook live stream moments before his terrifying and gruesome act of senseless violence. It is not the fault of N.T.Technology for providing the medium to announce his live stream. It is not the fault of Facebook for allowing his live-action footage to stream as it happened. These are just tools that millions of people use daily.

I am sure that Facebook is fully cooperating with law enforcement to provide any pertinent data that will lead to a conviction of this killer. N.T.Technology is cooperating fully with law enforcement as well. We have been providing BBS service for twenty years and have always obeyed the law and supported efforts to apprehend violent criminals on the internet.

Vicious trolls that talk about and post of copycat crime should take not that their speech is not protected by law, or me. As far as censorship goes, I don’t know the laws or morals of the New Zealand people. I do know that like seeing the Twin Towers in New York fall on 9/22 made me nauseous, and surely this video must as well. Yet the media plays that video often, and I always have that same reaction. I don’t agree with censorship of it. Whether they do in New Zealand is completely out of my control. I understand if the government of New Zealand might censor that content. However, that is not the law in America. I hope and pray that there are no copycat shootings in New Zealand. I hope that they can look to America for guidance on how to deal with criminal alien populations.

There is no easy fix to this problem, and our sympathy and empathy for the survivors and families of the dead and injured won’t make them whole. It is such a bad hurt they have suffered. I hope these families can at least get closure with a conviction of this merciless killer.

9th Circuit: Kate Steinle's parents can't sue San Francisco for granting 'sanctuary' to her killer

The 9th Circuit Court of appeals determined the city has 'immunity'

The loved ones of a woman killed by an illegal immigrant in 2015 have suffered another devastating loss — in a courtroom.

On Monday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld a lower court's decision to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the parents of Kathryn "Kate" Steinle against the city of San Francisco, saying the city's "sanctuary" status could not be the basis for liability regarding their daughter's death.

What are the details?

Steinle was fatally shot while strolling with her father near a San Francisco pier by Jose Ines Garcia Zarate — a repeat felon previously deported five times — who goes by several aliases. The gun Zarate used was stolen from a federal employee who had allegedly left the firearm in an unlocked vehicle.

Zarate killed Steinle shortly after he re-emerged into society from a 46-month prison term. The victim's parents — James Steinle and Elizabeth Sullivan — sued the city and county of San Francisco, citing a memorandum issued by former Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi which explicitly instructed local law enforcement not to notify ICE when an illegal immigrant offender was released from custody. The plaintiffs argued their daughter would still be alive if Zarate had not been granted sanctuary under Mirkarimi's policies.

The plaintiffs also sued the federal government, alleging negligence on behalf of the employee accused of leaving their government-issued firearm unsecured.

In 2017, a district court dismissed the family's claims, according to CNN.

An appeal to the 9th Circuit resulted in a decision where the court reasoned that San Francisco Administrative Code "simply encourage[s] cooperation; it does not mandate cooperation" between the city and ICE, and therefore no legal missteps occurred when the sheriff released Zarate without notice.

The 9th Circuit went on to defend the sheriff's "discretionary authority" to issue the memorandum granting sanctuary to illegal immigrant offenders upon release. According to the Los Angeles Times, the three-judge panel determined "San Francisco violated no state, local or federal law."

In a concurring opinion, the court wrote, "As the main opinion properly acknowledges, the events underlying this case are tragic. And some of Plaintiffs' claims remain to be litigated in the district court. We hold only that, under California law, the state officials are immune from the suit."

Anything else?

This isn't the first time San Francisco's sanctuary policies have been defended since Steinle's death. Just four months after she was killed, the city's Board of Supervisors proudly reaffirmed its sanctuary status, drawing cheers from the chamber, KCRA-TV reported.

Steinle's killer was acquitted of murder in connection with her death, but found guilty of illegal gun possession. He still faces federal gun charges, and remains behind bars in the U.S. awaiting yet another trial, according to The Associated Press.

The 9th Circuit allowed the plaintiffs' lawsuit against the federal government to move forward.

Meanwhile, Mueller sat on his team’s intelligence that cleared Trump of any and all allegations involving Russia and colluding or working with Russia to facilitate the defeat of Hillary Clinton. And likewise, Rosenstein and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions also did not push for Mueller to release the results of his team’s probe.

“This was well known by late summer,” another higher Justice Department official said. “(Andrew) Weissmann was frustrated there wasn’t anything substantive to use against Trump so he wanted to put his son under the microscope.”

Weissmann, an unethical DOJ prosecutor nicknamed “the pit bull,” has made a career out of inventing evidence to railroad defendants into criminal indictments. Ask anyone in DC. This is common knowledge. Working as Mueller’s top dog on this team did not prove any different.

Weissmann was up to his old tricks, DOJ insiders said.

Earlier, a representative of the emergencies committee of the country’s Interior Ministry informed that a Mi-8 helicopter had crashed on March 27 at around 17:35 pm (14:35 Moscow time). "The plane has crashed due to unknown circumstances, caught fire and and was burned completely," the representative stated.

Palestinians rush to stock up on food as Israeli airstrikes light up Gaza

Huge orange flashes were all that were lighting Gaza City Monday night as Israeli airstrikes pounded the coastal enclave, wounding eight Palestinians, including two children.

It seemed Gaza’s residents were either trying to capture the bombardments with their cellphones, or trying to calm their scared children as apartments shook from nearby bombings on several empty buildings associated with Hamas, and dozens of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel.

Israeli jets fired two missiles on a commercial building in the upscale Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City, which housed the offices of Ismail Haniya, the political leader of Hamas movement. This attack wounded two Palestinians, and caused excessive damage to the property and surrounding homes.

Despite reports that militant factions in Gaza have announced that Gaza and Israel had reached an Egypt-brokered ceasefire, both sides appeared to have breached the truce.

Haneen Basel, 30, mother of three sisters said that she was afraid to send two of her daughters to the school next morning “as the truce could be breached in any minute.”

“The elementary school is so close to a large Hamas training camp in western Gaza, that could be bombed without a prior warning,” Basel said, “I barely convinced them to go back to sleep due to the bombings after they were screaming hysterically all night long.”

Moving to the southern part of the city, long spontaneous queues of people were waiting out of Gaza’s biggest bakery to buy bread at midnight, a scene usually occurring during escalations.

Muzaffar Batniji, 27, shoemaker, said that his family urged him to buy 200 loaves of pita bread, “just in case of this escalation might continue for a week or more.”

“Lining up in such queues worryingly recalls the last wars on Gaza, where my family lost three cousins… every frightful thing that may come up in one’s imagination… bakeries might run out of bread for days as happened before,” Batniji told Mondoweiss.
